Shaykh Suliman Gani was an individual and I am well familiar with his case but for legal reasons lets drop the conversation Insha’Allah.

Like moonsighting, lets just say that I know what I am talking about on this subject. :lol

If you two want to chat, pick up the phone and ring me and I will tell you the details of this topic.

Lets agree that you have knowledge of the interaction between Shaykh Ghanis Lawyers and the BBC.

But as far as the BBC goes the situation far more complex. Then you think and your understanding.

Everytime an Islamaphobic programme is made BBC receives a flood of letters accusing the BBC of Bias and
and being Pro-Muslim wishy washy and not being forthright enough in exposing Islamic extremism within the Muslim community. who are these people who complain? and why do they do it?

If you google "BBC Pro-Muslim Bias" you will loads of hits. So no matter how biased the BBC is against Muslims they are consistently accused of being "Pro-Muslim". Various articles being written in papers over the last 20 years accusing it, and various websites.

In a nutshell the lobby accusing it of being "Pro-Muslim" is organised well connected, well funded and Powerful. The hotch potch group of Muslims who complain is non of those so they can easily just brush them off. While ignoring the former carries serious consequences.

Peter Oborne was the only journalist who wrote in defence of Shaykh Ghani and activley campaigned on his behalf.

I suggest you read the following well researched article by him.

www.opendemocracy.net/ourkingdom/peter-oborne-james-jones...

and also the following www.standard.co.uk/news/the-secret-report-at-heart-of-bbc...

My knowledge comes from the leading QC in Britain who handles Media litigation and specifically the background, resources and budget of the BBC legal team. Once again, I do on the ground research and get to the facts and try to ask questions from the experts (as much as I can). I do read on the Internet but for practical research I do (tend) to rely on the experts in the field.

So respectfully, let’s agree to disagree on the topic.

You have your views and I have mine. Let’s work for the best outcome for the Muslim Ummah.

As far as the lobby “against Islam and Muslims”, of course its organised and that goes without saying or even googling and that is not what I asserted.

The work of Peter Oborne is also praiseworthy and commendable but once again nothing to do with I said about the BBC.

YOUR COMPLAINT:
Complaint Summary: BBC lack of coverage of Islamaphobia.
Full Complaint: In the early part of the 1990's after the downfall of Soviet union, political commentaors and journalists declared that the Red menace of Communism is dead and the new enemy for the west is Islam. Since then an entire multi-million dollar Islamaphobia industry has been built around this. Infact the author Nathan Leaf has written an entire book called "The Islamaphobia Industry" so-called think tanks, journalists, political analysts making money from being professional Islamaphobes.Such as Douglas Murray, Henry Jackson society, Quilliam Foundation, The Asia Pacific foundation. Infact the aforementioned have been given a regular platform by the BBC to air their views. So question is why the BBC as a news organisation has done zero coverage on the Islamaphobia industry?

Thanks for contacting us.
I understand your concerns with the lack of coverage on the Islamabad industry on the BBC.
We know that not everyone will agree with our choices on which stories to cover, and the prominence that we give to them. These decisions are made by our news editors, taking into consideration the editorial merit of the stories at hand, and we accept that not everyone will think that we are correct on each occasion.
There are several factors that we take into consideration when deciding how to put together our news bulletins. For example, whether the story is new and requires immediate coverage, how unusual the story is, and how much national interest there is in the story.
These decisions are always judgement calls rather than an exact science, but we appreciate the feedback that our viewers and listeners give us when they feel a story has been overlooked or marginalised.
Thank you again for contacting us, we value your feedback. All complaints are sent to senior management and programme makers and BBC Departments every morning and I included your points in this overnight report. These reports are among the most widely read sources of feedback in the BBC and ensures that your complaint has been seen by the right people quickly. This helps inform their decisions about current and future programmes.
Kind regards

Absolutley I think its what one might call a Freudian slip. He was probably thinking Islam is Bad, whilst trying to spell Islamaphobia.

The following is complaint number 3 in the last week, just interesting study of the kind of excuses they come up with.

YOUR COMPLAINT:
Complaint Summary: Biased propaganda programme
Full Complaint: 10 years ago the Pakistani Cricket Coach Bob Woolmer, passed away from a heart attack. The BBC Panorama made a Islamaphobic propaganda programme called "Murder at the World Cup", claiming the Pakistan cricket team were members of Al Qaida because they had beards and prayed 5 times a day and they killed Bob Woolmer because he was a non muslim. Now I wanna know why a decade later BBC has yet to apologise for this programme?, Why to date There has been no public retraction of this programme by the Editors of Panorama? Why is your Panorama team allowed to consistently make such bigotted Islamaphobic programmes againt muslims? Why is there no accountability?

Thank you for getting in contact with us regarding an episode of 'Panorama'.
I appreciate you feel the programme entitled 'Death at the World Cup' has shown a biased attitude against the Pakistan national Cricket team.
Unfortunately, as per our complaints procedure, which you agreed to have read before sending your complaint, we can only respond to complaints about programmes within 30 days of their original broadcast. Due to this programme being produced in 2007, we are not able to respond to you regarding this specific complaint.
If you would like to know more about the framework of the BBC Complaints procedure then please follow this link for more information:

These reports are among the most widely read sources of feedback in the BBC and ensures that your complaint has been seen by the right people quickly. This helps inform their decisions about current and future programmes.

This is a follow up to my complaint, posted on the previous page post number 10:

Complaint Summary: Institutionalised Islamaphobia

Full Complaint: I asked a very serious question concerning the Institutionalised Islamaphobia within the BBC. And the consistently biased and bigoted programming. Instead I get brushed of with pathetic denials. Now I was asked for specific examples I can give you plently of examples how far in history would you like to go back to Islamaphobic programme after programme in the last 30 years. Let start with the following recent examples, notorious Islamaphobe Douglas Murray invited on Sunday politics show in order to spew his hatred, how many complaints you get concerning this? BBC Andrew Neill Falsley accusing Shaykh Sulaiman Ghani of being a supporter of Isis? How many complaints did the BBC get concerning this? The absolutley moronic Islamaphobic propaganda programme by Owen Bennet Jones called "Deobandis" how complaints did you get concerning this? Every single programme made by Panaroma concerning muslims, in particular those by the notorious and self-admitted Islamaphobe John Ware floods of complaints after complaints concerning him and ignored. Every single morning talk in show by Radio Five Live concerning Muslims. Notorious extremist organisations Quilliam foundation, and Henry Jackson given a platform consistently, in order to promote their anti-muslim agenda. So how about we start with these and we furnish you with plenty more examples going all the way back to the programme " Behind the Islamic veil of arranged marriages", 30 years ago. You asked for examples I have given them so I suggest you have the courtesy to answer each and every example offered and stop playing Dodge Ball. So question stands Why does the BBC have a policy of promoting Islamaphobia, and why are complaints concerning it ignored and pompously brushed off? Why are the Muslims denied impartial coverage?

Thank you for taking the time to contact us again and for the further information you've provided.
I'll seek to address each of your points individually, stating with your point regarding inviting Douglas Murray on to Sunday Politics.
We would like first to set out the thinking behind inviting Mr Murray on to the programme, in that it is common practice on programmes such as Sunday Politics, Daily Politics and This Week to have so-called "authored films" in which campaigners and experts are given the opportunity to set out their views and then discuss them. Viewers are familiar with the format which is, in essence, the broadcast equivalent of a newspaper opinion piece. It allows us to broadcast a range of opinions on our programmes and also to challenge those views in the appropriate way.
The BBC's Live Political Programmes department has reported extensively on the issue of counter-extremism and counter-terrorism, featuring a range of contributors. For example, on 5th March this year Sunday Politics featured an in-depth report and studio discussion on the findings of a report from the Henry Jackson Society on whether the UK is doing enough to counter Islamist terrorism. The discussion featured the former security minister, Dame Pauline Neville-Jones, Adam Deen from the anti-extremist group The Quilliam Foundation, and Talha Ahmad from The Muslim Council of Britain. In April, in another example, the Conservative peer Baroness Warsi was a guest of the day on the Daily Politics programme, in which she expressed her doubts and concerns about the Home Office's ‘Prevent’ programme.
The question of how to respond to threats from Islamic extremists was one on many minds after the Manchester Arena attack. As well as inviting Douglas Murray on to the programme, we also invited Sara Khan, CEO of Inspire, a non-governmental organisation working to counter extremism and gender inequality. The fact that both guests were given time to outline their views in the films made it perfectly clear to viewers where they were coming from.
In his authored film, Mr Murray made the assertion that “Eastern Europe does not have a problem with Islamic terrorism because it does not have much Islam”. Obviously the fact that some Eastern European countries have proportionately large Muslim populations needs to be brought into context with bigger, more populous Eastern European countries such as Poland which have relatively small Muslim populations. This research from the Pew Research Center is helpful on this issue: www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/07/19/5-facts-about-th....
Mr Murray was subsequently challenged on the view he expressed in the film by our presenter, Jo Coburn, who asked him to explain what he meant by the statement. In addition, Sara Khan was also given the opportunity to express her opinion, and she made it quite clear that she disagreed with Mr Murray on that point.
In the studio discussion, Mr Murray said “Take a poll that was taken last year in this country: it found that two thirds of British Muslims said they would not report a family member they found to be involved in extremism to the police”. The poll to which Mr Murray was referring was carried out by ICM on behalf of Channel 4 and formed the basis of a documentary called ‘What British Muslims Really Think’, presented by Trevor Philips OBE which was broadcast on 13th April 2016. Mr Murray accurately reported the finding in the poll which shows (p323-5) that 34% of respondents would report a person close to them who they thought was getting involved with people “who support terrorism in Syria” - www.icmunlimited.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/Mulims-fu... .
It is important that the BBC provides a platform for the widest possible discussion on important matters and that contributors are challenged in the appropriate way. We feel that the item was consistent with BBC Editorial Guidelines and upheld the BBC tradition of producing engaging, informative and challenging content.
As for your second point regarding Andrew Neill and Sulaiman Ghani, this issue would be out of time for a response as it dates back to 2016 and is over our 30 day limit for a response as per section 2.5.1 of our complaints framework.
Regarding Owen Bennett Jones' Radio 4 programme 'The Deobandis' this was last broadcast in April 2016 and would also be outside of our remit time for a response. A similar case would apply to the Panorama programmes you've mentioned regarding John Ware.
Regarding your point regarding 5 Live, we'd require an exact time, date and quote, otherwise we'd be unable to address your concerns substantially (as set out in section 2.5.3 of the our complaints framework).
You can read our complaints framework in full here - ssl.bbc.co.uk/complaints/forms/assets/complaintsnew/resou...
Once again, thanks for getting in touch.
