Sipah-e-Sahabah got involved in politics and entered elections while Lashkar-e-Janghwee abstained from politics and later became militant and that's why they split.
Anyone here from Nagan Chowrangi (Karachi) and goes to Sididiq-e-Akbar Masjid, are they still Sipah-e-Sahaba? In our younger days we used to do there just to listen to Maulana Ali Sher Haideri curse the Shia and then the Shia used to shoot into the Masjid during Taraweeh with AK47 fire and Sunni used to shoot back and Taraweeh used to get interrupted.
The speech in itself was quite moving but seeing the ulema crying was heart-wrenching. Just brings to mind the helplessness of the true aashiqs when the mashooq are being so brazenly insulted. :(
Professor : How much money is usually required to hire Mullas-for-rent in Pakistan to make the public rise against Shias in order to isolate Iran and ensure no collaboration between the two? Whose money may it be, by the way? Saudi? UAE? Others?
Me: Is there a possibility that the people in the mammoth rally in Karachi have a real grievance?
Professor : What kind of grievance prompted them to say Shias are kafir and need to be all killed.
Me : Question is mine and it is about what prompted a mammoth crowd to hit the road in infamous Karachi heat.
Professor : There are ways to mobilize mammoth crowds and make them blood thirsty. Have we not seen such scenes earlier too?
Me : You are assiduously avoiding mentioning the causes that lead up to people getting agitated. Was there a well organized provocation? If yes then that is what is the key issue and the rest is aftermath. Somewhere you have to own up the cause.
The Sipah e Sahaba/ASWJ has modified its approach quite a bit in the past 5-6 years, apparently because of the authorities' crackdown on "sectarianism". You won't hear the chant 'Kafir Kafir Shia Kafir" at their rallies anymore.
One may disagree with the organization's policies and methods of implementation, but their sincerity, sacrifices and love for the Sahaba can not be doubted. Especially the old timers, right from Maulana Haq Nawaz Jhangvi Shaheed (RA) to Maulana Ali Sher Haideri Shaheed (RA) had a different level of passion, dedication and courage.
I agree that the title of Allama is misused often times. I have heard that Maulana Ali Sher Haideri (RA) was a scholar of a high academic stature. Even Mufti Zar Wali Khan (HA) said something similar.
Before discussions, facts need to be established.
Shias are kafir and need to be all killed
The talks are all on YouTube and the other professor needs point out which scholar said this because it is hate speech and punishable under the constitution of Pakistan, ask him to get cracking and let us know.
Nobody has asked me about it but I would like to remain prepared for questions from Islamophobes - what should be our response to Lahore Motorway outrage and ignominy?
Not we, the liberals. The liberals and secularists themselves will never want such punishments to become mainstream. They don't have the guts. The elite too will be against this, knowing that in the future if their own deeds were to come to light, they could be subjected to such punishments.
Well, technically what he says is correct, don't you think? Frankly, I am surprised it's coming from him. To punish in the manner that Islam has recommended would certainly require stringent conditions upon the accusers to prove their accusations. Otherwise, we'll have what's happening in the West happening in Islamic countries too. Women accusing men left, right and center. And absolutely no punishment for false accusers. There's a reason why Allah has made laws the way He made them.
The liberals will make a lot of noise on this issue, but they will never let Shariah be implemented properly in the country.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
