Opening Statement

As I have been saying for few years by now there is enormous encroachment upon our life space by external entities - individuals, communities, countries, organizations.

The encroachment may be in scientific, technological, military, industrial, commercial, financial, business, economic, political, social cultural or even theological sphere.

The first step towards liberating your life space, as an Ummah, will be to acknowledge that there is encroachment.

Second step will be to tell the world that this is how we feel.

Then only we can devise effective ways to regain our space. And contribute to the world civilization at something like equal level. Academically, intellectually, logically no one amongst the opposite parties can dispute over this strategy.

This liberation of our personal ife space will be a long drawn an painstaking process.

Europe has been working on this encroachment for last four hundred years.
They will not give up easily and willingly.
Christianity has been working on it even longer - 1400 years.

To this end there is no short cut available.
Long, hard road is the only one.
That is the one we have to take.
The road less travelled.

Interesting analysis Hazrat.

An additional problem is that those at the forefront in defending Islam against the onslaught of propaganda,
are often times very modernist in their outlook, these individuals are on the one hand defending Islam and on the other hand through their ignorance of Islamic teachings are helping the west encroach on Muslim 'lifespace' ....The speaking circuit seems to be saturated with Scholars in the west, but when it comes to Scholars who are writers there are hardly any being produced by the Madrassahs, that connecting with the youth of the west.... (Or maybe its because there is more money on the speaking circuit then there is in writing articles or books, or perhaps our attention spans have decreased to such an extent that we are no longer reading or purchasing books and Scholars find it a futile exercise ALLAH Knows Best.)

Even from the sub-continent over the last few decades the Scholar most captivating with the pen in the English sphere has been Maulana Wahidudin Khan ..... He is someone who has been derided for his modernist views but has recently become mainstream even an Honorary guest at a religious conference in U.A.E. a while back.

Furthermore I remember a Scholar from Pakistan stating that the so-called Sexual revolution of the 1960's is now reaching the remotest corners of the world where people had traditionally been untouched...Those villages that were completely Isolated a few decades ago with no roads or electricity, now have internet with their entire inhabitants on facebook, and are culturally modernising fairly quickly helped by the westernised TV stations in the Muslim world.

We have now entered the era of the strangers >>>..... www.muftisays.com/forums/13-articles--stories--more/11193...

The road less travelled is a road going up a steep mountain with thorny bushes, raging blizzards, and sub zero temperatures and a constant risk of avalanches...May Allah help every muslim to reach its pinnacle and preserve us from slipping or succumbing to the elements and the harsh environment Ameen.

This deluge of speakers is alright ya akhi.
More Muslims speak for Islam better it is for us.
I will say that even Tarek Fateh is good for people like him keep the focus on Islam.
Of course this increases our work but we should not shy away from that work.
Real damage to our interests only comes from the organizations like the so called Islamic State.
I shall elaborate on it at some other time.

Remember Maulana Wahiduddin Khan is getting his bread and butter from Islam.
It is wrong at two levels. One you are not supposed to earn your bread by selling knowledge.
Yet we can ignore this.
Two he is in some sense supporting the enemies of Islam by being seen with organizations like the RSS.
Let me tell you having not much folloership amongst Muslims the damage he can do to us is really minimal.
So let us ignore him, we have got better avenues to explore and utilize and exploit.

While it is true that Kufr, Nifaq and Shirk has got much potential and power as currency to inflict damage to faith but luckily we can all of these on. It is possible to fight and defeat these demons. That is what we are supposed to do. The same media is avaulable to us too. We better use it for our advantage. We can today ask the world to chose between shamelessness and modesty. It is their choice. We can tell the world that out of shamelessness and modesty we chose modesty and invite them to do the same. We can tell them that we reserve our right to defend our choice.

So many times I too feel like a complete stranger.
But that should not be taken as a reason for discouragement.
It should simply be taken as a sign as well as an evidence to the effect that we are at the right path.
After that remember many of our youth are inclined towards Islam.
Number of our women going for Hijab at various levels has only increased.
All of these girls and boys are neither illiterate nor ignorant.
They are educated, modern and aware of the Islamophobic environment.
Yet they are chosing to practice Islam.
This is no mean reality.
This is a piece of reality for Islam. In favour of Islam.
Let us make use of this contingent of youth.
Let us support them.
Let us reassure them.
Let us congratulate them on their courage and choice.
Let us give them glad tidings over their choice.
Let us tell them that they are on the right path.
Let us tell them that not only the success of the hereafter but even the success of the present world is for them.
Ya akhi I can see things changing in favour of Islam and Muslims right in front of my eyes.
And I say that in spite of all the Islamophobia that is present today.
In spite of the peak of Islamophobia occurring in our life times.
