Ask the over 600,000 people killed by Assad and his allies, and the 12 million displaced inside and outside Syria in the last 14 years, why he should remain in power.

You must have been sleep for the last 13 years. Everything the Israelis are doing in Palestine, Bashar Al Assad has done to his own people. Mass murder perhaps close to a million killed, mass rape, mass torture.
Entire villages and towns destroyed.

The people wanted equality and justice not to be persecuted and oppressed and for Bashar stop stealing the wealth of the nation. Syria under Assad and his father was a police state. It is run by the secret police thousands of people being randomly imprisoned and torture. Sunnis who make up the majority of the population were persecuted. Assad is an Alawi they worship Sayedna Ali (RA).

Maybe because the rulers carry out massacres and mass imprisonment and detention to quell protests.

It was demonstrated by Sheikh Haseena in Bangladesh most recently.
