Lastly I can make Taqleed of the research of Abu Nusaybah OR I can quote the works of Imam Bayhaqi (RA).

Take a wild guess whose research I will follow to secure myself for the day of Judgement!

Brother Abu Nusaybah has a valid point, to a certain extent.

And this is coming from a Hardcore Deobandi.

Also, a new version of Fazail e amaal with complete takhreej of ahadees has come out. The project has been done by a team consisting myself and a fellow mufti sahib. I am not sure whether the book is available online.

Hazrat! Can you see the tone of op?

I  understand that you are concerned about fabricated hadees, but I think our Shuyookh are more concerned about this than any layman! And to raise fitnah on public forums by giving air to topics concerning which layman shouldn't be concerned, is something that I am concerned about!

For OP (not for you): Leave this topic to Ulama and don't produce wasawis in laymen, as there is nothing that laymen can do about this topic except copy-paste! Really... plz.... it's above their capacity.

Jazakumullah

Mufti Saheb,

Takhreej of Fazail-e-Amaal and expunging weak Ahadeeth are two separate matters.

Takhreej is enhancement while expunging is Academic butchery! Al-Adab Al-Mufrad of Imam Bukhari (RA) has weak Ahadeeth (or some may be even fabricated), why would anyone (apart from Shaykh Al-Albani RA)) clip the work of Imam Bukhari (RA)? It will no longer remain original and classic.

You can do Takhreej, add Hashiya, add footnotes and all that is complimentary. You can even summarise the work (as it has been done by many Ulama) but you cannot butcher Fazail-e-Amaal and still call it that.

I am strongly in favour of using Riyadus-Saliheen instead of Fazail-e-Aamaal and then let whoever wants to use Fazail-e-Amaal use it.

In this thread, a Hadeeth is being quoted which the Author didn’t believe to be fabricated at all. This isn’t an error at all.

Well I did not know the intentions of abu nusaybah.

The answer from hadithanswers says the narration is extremely weak, so from what I understand , those who follow their view would not seem it suitable to quote as mentioned in the answer.

If other research shows it is not extremely weak then that is fine, but how do you know Shaikh Zakariya researched the Hadith. I am not familiar with the book he quoted it from so I am ignorant as to whether that imam simply quoted the Hadith or researched it as well. And I also do not know the terminologies used by Imam bayhaqi concerning weak or very weak etc. In other words I would have to follow the opinion of the ulama such as those at Hadith answers.

Totally agree.

Either don't use it, or search/use for an alternative like Riyadus-Saliheen.

This is why I said from the out-set that this thread shouldn't be allowed to keep going. It'll only result in a pungah.

Use this formula for all the books, wa'az etc. not just Fadhail e Amaal. Can you?

Our shuyookh call it Sheikh Zakaria's Masterpiece, why? Are they decieving us?

Respected brother.

That's up to the individual isn't it? My point is there is no need for discord. If someone has doubts about narrations found in Fadhail E Amal then there is no need to cause fitna just look for an alternative. There many books out there that can be used for taleem. That shouldn't put anyone off it's a personal choice.

I certainly don't think they're deceiving us, but I believe they're not aware that Shaykh Zakariya perhaps mistakenly added certain narrations that should not be there. Personally, when I had any concerns regarding a Hadith that either I've read from Fadhail E Amal or heard from someone else, I've always cross checked with the team at HadithAnswers, and they provided sufficient evidence that every narration, I questioned was either considered very weak or fabricated by many classical Muhadithoon. Which, is why now I, and my family no longer use Fadhail E Amal. The purpose is to do taleem at home. Which, book you use shouldn't matter provided it's reliable, and has been approved by many past/present scholars - that seems to the case with Riyadh Saliheen.

Having said that, I don't agree that Fadhail E Amal is Shaykh Zakariya's masterpiece. In fact he has authored over 80 celebrated works. His magnum opus is his monumental commentary on the Muwatta of Imam Malik (RA) by the name of “Awjazul Masalik” which was praised by Arabs and non-Arabs alike. The Maliki Ulama of Mauritania still derive benefit from “Awjazul Masalik” till today.

Another masterpiece was his 12 volume annotations of the prodigious commentary of Sunan Abu Dawood, “Al-Bazlul Majhood” written by his illustrious teacher Molana Khalil Ahmed Saharanpuri.

His commentary on Bukhari is also a work of art too.

May Allah reward him for this efforts. Ameen.

It is a master piece, and Allah Ta'ala put immense barakah in it, and millions of laymen started doing Aamal just because of hearing this book. It is a book of Islam. Tableeghi Jamaat has been using it for decades.

Hadeeth Scholars based on their research for hundred of years have used weak texts especially in their targheebi works. Just like
how we deal with those, we will deal with the same here. ( e.g the takhreejs, the hashiyas, the foot notes, etc)

Just like how we cant write off Ihya uloomuddin, we cant ask the Tableeghi Jamaat to write off the Shaykh's book, just because some academically midget minded people found out that the hadeeth is extremely weak.

The Shaykh DID NOT INTENTIONALLY LIE UPON THE PROPHET. move on now with your life.

A hanafi deobandi muhaddith himself said this hadith shouldnt be quoted, Imam dhahabi said this hadith are among the fabricated of the rawi who used to fabricate ahadith and i supposed to be an anti deobandi! Imam bukhari-ibn hajar - imam dhahabi said 2 rawis are matruk in 1 chain and i am anti deobandi! Didnt know one has to leave 8 muhaddiths verdict about a rawi and pick 1-2 muhaddiths verdict to become a deobandi! I thought deobandis work for haq and maintain cautious in matter of deen, but it seems the insider story is different. People are so hurry to throw someone out from their manhaj if they raise any objection regarding any of their elders. Thats the reason they cant even improve themselves, neither does the scholars try attempt to bring a change just cause of the awwam may act weird and level them as "anti deobandi".

Arabs dont write off ihya uloom ud din, they read the books with the footnotes. Thats all we are asking. IT seems laymen are only present in subcontinent and in arab countries there are no laymen! And obviously none claimed sheikh intentionaly lied! THe hadith already existed like thousends other fabricated hadiths already since 1000 years. An alim quoting a fabritaced hadith doesnt mean he intentionaly lied but didnt judge the chain properly. And sh zakariya has already shown in few place in the book leniency about chain.

Sorry I disagree with you that those who praise this book are unaware of the fact that there are some weak ahadees in fadhail e amal. Please read the book that I posted in my previous post. The shuyookh surely aren't deceiving us, but actually they analyse this work in the same way and with the same glasses as they analyse any other work of tafseer, or Fadhail book etc.

In the book that I posted shaykh writes about Hafiz Zahbi RhA, the great imam of science of hadees, that he called a hadees baatil in his meezan and used the same hadees in kitaabul kabaair (which is written for targheeb and tarheeb) with the words "Indeed it came in hadees". There a many other examples also in that book.

So what shaykh RhA wrote, he wrote following the way of salaf. This is the mizaaj of salaf in case of targheeb wa tarheeb, fadhail etc.

Please do read this book:

Please dissect the books written in defence of Fadhail e amaal by DEOBANDI MUHADDISEEN instead of debating with laymen, and then share your work with us here, we'll then have a discussion on YOUR work in shaa Allah.

I have an English Arabic version of al kabair and there are many narrations which are mentioned as fabricated and weak in the footnotes. That is because there are different published versions of al kabair, one the is authentic from imam ad dhahabi and contains no fabrications and another version that has additions by others and has many questionable narrations.

You have to confirm if you are speaking about the authentic version
