Pakistani political analyst Zaid Hamid is a maverick and free lancer and thus has been a controversial figure.
Here we get a detailed insight about his ordeal in the Saudi Arab.
One might disagree with his particular points and views but in my view we can not dispute that he puts his finger on most relevant issues faced by Muslims and Ummah in his country and the world at large.
We can use his analysis to talk about problems of Ummah.
Zaid Zaman himself is a big problem for Ummah. Now his needle is stuck on Moulana Tariq Jameel db, Tableeghi Jama'at and all deobandees. His facebook page is full of stupid allegations against them.

Allama Shabbir Ahmed Usmani was a Deobandi before creation of Pakistan and opposed to Quaid e Azam. One night, Allama Usmani saw RasulAllah (sm) in his dream and Sayyadi Rasul Allah (sm) pointed towards Quaid e Azam and called him his soldier and ordered Allama Usmani to support Quaid.
After this amazing dream, Allama Usmani resigned from Deoband and formed his own party - Jamiat Ulama e Islam and became strongest supporter of Quaid and Muslim league and fought against Mushriks and his own University deoband.
Similarly, another top deobandi, Hussain Ahmed Madni also had spiritual visions in which he was informed that Rasul Allah (sm) and spiritual world have decided to create Pakistan. Astaghfurullah, this is the reason why Allama Iqbal called him as follower of Abu Lahab.. !! In Kalam e Iqbal, Iqbal baba wrote a full poem against Hussain ahmed madni and Deoband and destroyed them totally. Deoband Ulama knew that Rasul Allah (sm) is with Quaid e Azam and Pakistan STILL Deoband supported Hindu Mushriks. Innalillahe inna ilehe rajeoon.

Pakistan's establishment of no-fly-zones over Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq after the '67 Arab War is another feather in Pakistan's cap.
The Muslim world is looking to Turkey to take a stand globally on matters of the Ummah. Pakistan should certainly explore a strategic alliance with Turkey in this regard. They have history on their side.
