I am not passing judgement on anything rather simply discussing this matter.
I Hardly sit in tablighi daily mashwara and when I do they never discussed women's taleem. This time however after deciding who's doing anouncement taleem etc, we were asked to give our opinions as to which women should do masturat taleem. I found it strange to look at a brother and say " I think your wife should it " : ) , or to volunteer my female family member without consulting them.
Can't the women decide among themselves who would do taleem, or do we have to decide for them?
This is interesting because we have ulama who are calling for women to be at masjid meetings and be on the committee , which i agree is foreign and strange to many of us , and still confusing to me, and at the same time we don't seem to consider it allowed or suitable for women to decide in an all women's gathering as to who will read taleem.
This was the mashwara for one musala so there was no ameer , just someone appointed to conduct mashwara . the amir is present at the weekly when brothers from all masjids get together . I wonder if its because the effort is being revived In this musala or if its standard practice with instructions from nizamudeen.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
