Why are these total opposite views?
qa.muftisays.com wrote:

It is the belief of ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama'a to which the Ahnaf and all the rightly guided Muslims belong that Allah سبحانه و تعالي is in fact above the skies and not everywhere. However, in what manner Allah Ta'ala is present there is unknown.

It is not the premise of the lay man or woman to indulge in matters regarding the nature of Allah سبحانه و تعالي and engage in discussions and debates. Such matters should be left to specialist qualified ulamaa.

Summary of Moulana Ilyas Ghuman db 's talk is that Saying that Allah is (only) above heavens on the arsh is against Quran, Hadees and is also logically incorrect. Correct aqeeda is that Allah JJ is la makaan, in simple words everywhere....

Allah is la makan, la zaman. (Mufti Saeed Ahmed Palanpuri mentioned this when discussing the difference between Barelwi and Deobandi Aqeedah) He's not everywhere either, his knowledge is of everything at all times at all places.

Allah is not confined by time and space as these are from his creations.

The Ulema further elaborate on this verse/line by saying Allah is not everywhere but his 'quadrat' is everywhere.

Make sense?

Be careful bro because salafis use these things to confuse, I remember witnessing hair splitting debates on Sf. Salafis will say okay you say Allah is everywhere, so is Allah in the toilet?

Na audhu billa min zaalik.

Stuff like the above that infuriates and also confuses because you start to question everything you know

I am not an expert on Hazrat Maulana and his point of view and I am relying on your statement!

Allah (SWT) is Laa-Makan Wala-Zamaan and this doesn't mean that Allah is everywhere...

To say Allah is physically "positioned" above the throne is wrong
To say Allah is everythere is also wrong becuase everywhere is a position (i.e. vaccum or lack of a position)

And to ridiculously conclude from these 2 statements that Allah is nowhere is equally wrong!

This is all from classical Maturidi Aqeedah and whomever disagrees is clueless, basically and most people are...Sorry to say

Mufti abdur rahman manghera has further elaborated on this point

Saying Allah is where ever he chooses to be

Or you can say

Allah is with the believers or the sabiroon

And all above positions are correct as they are from the Quran

but to limit Allah to a place or a time is Wrong and void. These laws apply to the creation not the Creator.

Correct!

Above is a Position
Nowhere is a Position
Everywhere is a Position

2 & 3 are bound by a refence point, for example:

If I ask my son look in the house and find the key. He says "Its nowhere"

Similarly, during Iftaar I spilled water and it went "Everywhere"

Both of these are creations of Allah and it is wrong to imply that Allah is bound by his creation.

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

Everywhere, in one place etc. are all creations that undergo change and Allah Ta'ala and His Sifat are Qadeem (eternal). Allah Ta'ala is above (in status) from being described by a physical "place".

If you had left it as: Allah mawjud bilaa mikan, period. your conclusion would have been correct.

These problems in Aqidah happen when people start thinking about the Being of Allah (tala), which ultimately lead to quantifying things from created thoughts of a person's mind.

Think about the signs of the greatness of Allah Ta'ala and not about the modality of the Being of Allah Ta'ala (because no one really can) and you'll be right as rain, inshaAllah.

P.S. better to save these questions for after Ramadhan or offline with an Alim who specializes in the subtleties of Aqidah.

Intro of Moulana db is that he is student of Moulana Sarfraz Khan Safdar RhA and Khalifa of Moulana Hakeem Akhtar RhA and Moulana Abdul Hafeez Makki db.

In his bayan he said that Allah JJ is LA MAKAAN, but for layman it is difficult to explain so we simply say that he is everywhere. May be I have misunderstood some of things that he said, because moulana is not someone unaware of maslak of deoband. He is one of the strongest munazir here in Pakistan, representing the maslak of deoband. Scholars here on muftisays must be knowing him.

I sure hope you haven't taken anyone here as scholars, with the exception of Maulana Yasin and a couple of others who are new but not regular users.

This is completely different to what you are translating!

Fot those who don't read Urdu it says:

Allah (SWT) on account of His Power, Knowledge and Majesty is present everywhere.

This is vastly different to the statement:

Allah is not above the throne, Allah is everywhere.
