When you do zikr the sufi way, as you've mentioned above, then you need a sufi shaykh to monitor you and guide you for these implications, side effects. Not sure why you started it yourself especially if you don't have permission to do so or even have someone to monitor you ??

My advice would be to stop the zikr for now and other forms of similar sufi zikr you might be doing in whatever form/manner whatsoever and consult an expert in this field.

However I think it's the heat, combined with fasting and dehydration. Take up brother Muadhs mashwera.

WalahuAlam- also wait to see what brother dr76 says and take it from there

@Muadh Bhai. jazakallahu khayran for suggestion. solid advice. i used to workout a 2-3 times a week, mostly bodyweight stuff. didn't run because i was brisk walking 1-2 hours a day so i didn't feel the need. a few other ailments decreased, especially sluggishness of body and mind, but this headache remained. also another ailment, family doctor specifically told me to exercise regularly for that one...

@Jinn Bhai, I wasn't really doing it like a sufi saheb, seated on ground, waving head up and down, reciting at the top of my voice. but whenever i say Laa Ilaaha, then I picture everything coming out of my heart....when I say Illallah, then I say it with a bit of force picturing a pillar of Allah Ta'ala's nur being driven into my heart. No other sufi stuff, and this problem has been there since before Ramadan. Now my mujahidah has been added to with caffeine withdrawals, :(.

i recite Qur'an for an hour or so and then stop because my head then develops a dull pain.

السلام عليكم

Concur with Bro Jinn's advice.. kindly stop all these DIY practices.. plz focus on Masnoon Adhkar..
there is more Noor in sunnah than anything else..
As told to me by an elder.. even wearing footwear according to sunnah is a means of immense Noor entering the heart..

Request duas..

wa Assalam..

actually, from what i have experienced you feel like your body cooling down when you recite durood and when you do other adhkar it mostly generates heat!

this is why some Sufi prefer to read durood before any adhkar!

i read that you pain in your head and it seems your doing some sufi kinda of stuff without a shaikh. this is what people suggested me 1. try to do dum on your body reading 3 quls and 10 ayat ul qursi.. 2. use hamdard badam oil and khas kas oil (Poppy seeds) 3.exercise

no headaches or anything like that, but my right ear gives a bit of pain , when i see a lot of them or seen them spreading more light, they are beautiful blue light flashes. i do see them when i pray, do zikr , sometimes they come randomly.

one amil had a talk with them , one of them said to him to tell me to read surah iklas 7 times and do isal e sawab to Shaik Khwaja moinuddin chisti (rh) after every prayer.. i was not doing that... but now , i think i should do it.

and these amils are not fake they have been treating people from 25+ years.

Isaal e sawab is always beneficial.. no doubt about that..

Yet i would suggest u consult an ENT specialist and get some scans done too..

do correspond privately on this..
