Ten things we waste..

1. Our Knowledge: Wasted by not taking action with it ...

2. Our Actions: Wasted by committing them without sincerity.

3. Our Wealth: Wasted by using on things that will not bring us ajr (reward from Allah). We waste our money, our status, our authority, on things which have no benefit in this life or in akhirah (hereafter).

4. Our Hearts: Wasted because they are empty from the love of Allah, and the feeling of longing to go to Him, and a feeling of peace and contentment. In it's place, our hearts are filled with something or someone
else.

5. Our Bodies: Wasted because we don't use them in ibadah (worship) and service of Allah.

6. Our Love: Our emotional love is misdirected, not towards Allah, but towards something/someone else.

7. Our Time: Wasted, not used properly, to compensate for that which has passed, by doing what is righteous to make up for past deeds.

8. Our Intellect: Wasted on things that are not beneficial, that are detrimental to society and the individual, not in contemplation or reflection.

9. Our Service: Wasted in service of someone who will not bring us closer to Allah, or benefit in dunyaa.

10. Our Dhikr (Remembrence of Allah): Wasted, because it does not effect us or our hearts.

May Allah give us all the ability to use our time efficiently so that we turn to Him more frequently. May He give us the ability to remember Him in everything we do and May He give us the ability to do everything for His sake only. AMEEN.

Remember me in your duaas.

Ameen. Very wise words with lots of meaning. Jazakillah. Many are guilty of the above points. May Allah forgive us.

Assalamoalaikum Warahmatullahi wabarakaatuh

Jazakillah Khairun muslimah_89 for the excellent article.

I recently read this dua, and it brought me to tears as it reminded me of the extent of Allah's mercy and the magnitude of my errors in the face of his kindness to me:

O Allah, I seek Your forgiveness for every sin that my body, empowered by the good health that You granted, was able to commit; every sin that came within the reaches of my power only due to the grace of Your bounties; every sin to which my hand, nourished by Your ample sustenance, extended. And while sinning, I hid myself behind Your veil from the people; and when fearing You while engrossed in my sin, I relied on Your assurance of safety and forgiveness; and I took refuge in You, with Your clemency, not to smite me, and I depended on You, with Your noble countenance and pardon, to forgive me.

Allahumma innee astaghfiruka li kulli dhambika qawiya 'alayhi badani bi 'aafiyatik, wa naalat-hu qudrati bi faDli ni'matik, wa'mbasaTat ilayhi yadi bi si'ati rizqik, wa'htajabtu 'ani n-naasi bi sitrik wa'ttakaltu fihi 'inda khawfi minka 'ala amaanik, wa wathiqtu min saTwatika 'alayya fihi bi Hilmik, wa 'awwaltu fihi 'ala karami wajhika wa 'afwik.

D = daad (full mouth) T = Taa (full mouth) H = Haa (middle of the throat)

I highly recommend the book in which I found this dua:

Assalamualaykum sister shahly,

That it is such a beautiful duaa, and yes i agree, it does make you realise the extent of Allah سبحانه وتعالى 's mercy.

May He reward you well for sharing that with us.
