Turkey..

Wiki says- Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons in Turkey face legal challenges and discrimination not experienced by non-LGBT residents. Homosexual relations are legal in the Republic of Turkey since 1858, but the law does not include sexual orientation or gender identity in its civil rights laws and there is no legal recognition for same-sex couples currently.
Some sections of society in Turkey are socially conservative when it comes to such issues as homosexuality. There also exists widespread homophobic discrimination in Turkey, which has been reducing in modern times.[1]

The situation in regard to LGBT rights in Turkey has been improving in the 21st century, with proposals to introduce legislation against anti-LGBT hate crimes and discrimination, as well as to constitutionally allow the legal recognition of same-sex marriage.[2] In 12 August 2013, Constitution Reconciliation Commission which drafts the new constitution has agreed to provide constitutional protection against discrimination for LGBT.[3] The draft was later cancelled due to nonconcurrences about other subjects of the new constitution.[4]

Bahrian

A new Penal Code was enacted in March 1976, repealing the Penal Code of the Persian Gulf that was imposed by the United Kingdom.[1] The new code legalized same-sex sodomy, with the minimum age of consent at 21 years.[1]

Bahrain arrests scores in raid on gay party

Gulf news:

Manama Bahrain has arrested 127 people, mainly gays from the Gulf countries, for holding a "depraved and decadent" party.
The revellers hired a sports hall in Hidd, a conservative village on Muharraq island in the north of Bahrain, and organised on Wednesday evening a fee-paying party that brought together gay men from the Arabian Gulf countries.

Most of the gays were between 18 and 30 years old and one Lebanese and one Syrian were among those arrested following the police bust, Al Ayam daily reported on Friday.
Neighbours, complaining about the late night noises emanating from the sports hall in the traditional fishing village, had alerted the police who sent a patrol to verify the claims at around 2.30am.
An undercover agent paid the 20 dinar entrance fee and was allowed into the hall where he saw dozens of cross-dressers drinking and smoking shishas. More patrols were called in and 127 people were arrested in the police swoop, the daily said.

Initial investigations have revealed that the gays were either Gulf nationals who came to Bahrain for the party or were living in Bahrain and flocked to the hall in Hidd. The organisers are being held separately.
The embassies of the non-Bahrainis have been told about the arrest, the paper said.

The hall was shut down on Thursday pending the investigation. Hidd Club officials who own the hall said that they would look into the case and check with the investor who had rented it.
Homosexuality is banned in Bahrain, like in the other five Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and foreigners arrested in relation to gay activities are deported after serving prison terms.

Ugandan crackdown on gays

KAMPALA: Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has made an impassioned defence of his decision to crack down on gays, saying his tough stance on immorality meant he would not even dare kiss his wife in public.

The statement from the president, carried by local media on Friday, was widely seen as swipe against US President Barack Obama, who has been fiercly critical of Uganda's anti-gay law and who celebrated his own re-election win with a public embrace of his wife Michelle.

Last week Museveni said he would sign into law a controversial bill that will see homosexuals jailed for life, despite international pressure and warnings from Washington that bilateral relations would be harmed.

"Exhibitionism of homosexual behaviour must be punished because, in this part of the world, it is forbidden to publicly exhibit any sexual conduct (kissing, etc) even for heterosexuals," the president's statement said.

"If I kissed my wife of 41 years in public, I would lose elections in Uganda," said Museveni, who has led Uganda since 1986 and has been seeking support for another term in office.

Museveni said he was initially opposed to the anti-gay law because he thought "it was wrong to punish somebody on account of being born abnormal" - much in the same way that he wouldn't punish an albino or a woman without breasts.

However, he said that advice from scientists in Uganda's Department of Genetics, School of Medicine and the Ministry of Health showed a "unanimous conclusion.. that homosexuality, contrary to my earlier thinking, was behavioural and not genetic" - and therefore it should be punished.

"I therefore encourage the US government to help us by working with our scientists to study whether, indeed, there are people who are born homosexual. When that is proved, we can review this legislation," he added.

"Africans do not seek to impose their views on anybody. We do not want anybody to impose their views on us. This very debate was provoked by Western groups who come to our schools and try to recruit children into homosexuality," Museveni wrote.

The anti-gay bill cruised through the Ugandan parliament in December after its architects agreed to drop an extremely controversial death penalty clause, although the bill still says that repeat homosexuals should be jailed for life, outlaws the promotion of homosexuality and requires people to denounce gays.

Museveni, a devout evangelical Christian, last week also signed into law anti-pornography and dress code legislation which outlaws "provocative" clothing, bans scantily-clad performers from Ugandan television and closely monitors what individuals watch on the Internet.

THE BEST ANSWER TO HOMOSEXUALS (Lut People) - Mufti Menk
Halalified YT Audio

Islam condemns homosexuality, that is sex among males or among females, and considers it both a sin and a crime.Qur'an declares homosexuality a crime, something that is forbidden and will be punished by God, and that this becomes clear from the story of Lot (Lut, in Arabic), which is retold in the Qur'an again and again.

Qur'an says;

"We also sent Lut: He said to his people: Do ye commit lewdness such as no people in creation (ever) committed before you? For ye practice your lusts on men in preference to women: ye are indeed a people transgressing beyond bounds. And his people gave no answer but this: they said, "Drive them out of your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!"" (Qur'an 7:80-82)

"Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)! They said: "If thou desist not, O Lut! thou wilt assuredly be cast out!" He said: "I do detest your doings:" "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" So We delivered him and his family,- all Except an old woman who lingered behind. But the rest We destroyed utterly. We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful." (Qur'an 26:165-175)

"Would ye really approach men in your lusts rather than women? Nay, ye are a people (grossly) ignorant! But his people gave no other answer but this: They said, "Drive out the followers of Lut from your city: these are indeed men who want to be clean and pure!" But We saved him and his family, except his wife; her We destined to be of those who lagged behind. And We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)!" (Qur'an 27:55-58)

"And (remember) Lut: behold, he said to his people: "Ye do commit lewdness, such as no people in Creation (ever) committed before you. Do ye indeed approach men, and cut off the highway? - and practise wickedness (even) in your councils?" But his people gave no answer but this: they said: "Bring us the Wrath of Allah if thou tellest the truth." (Qur'an 29:28-29)

السلام عليكم

Iam Yet to be clarified on this..

A repost..

" After the boycott at UK universities over Mufi Menk's views on gays.. the response by him was rather misleading..

i received mails on his statements and sought clarification from those who could reach out to him.. but nothing has come so far..

The following was the mail i sent.. & i welcome any explanation that would come from Him.. or that he has furnished..

" Mufti Menks UK university tour was cancelled due to his views on gays. This was his response to it, what do you guys think:

Mufti Menk's response:

Mufti Menk's response to the cancellation of his UK university tour is being circulated on Facebook. He said the following on his social media page:

"I am very disturbed by being labelled a hate preacher etc by gay rights activists. The truth is that I have never promoted hatred, violence or intolerance against gays or any others for that matter. I have worked hard to promote peace and tolerance which is evident from my Twitter and Facebook accounts.

"Coming from Zimbabwe, I had not been exposed to gays, but travelling to the West has given me a better understanding of the situation. I have had the chance to meet up with some of them and even share a few jokes and discuss their point of view. They have explained to me how as time passes more people are understanding them from politicians to church leaders too. The only difference is with those who say Islam allows gay behavior. That's all.

"We still promote peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and tolerance and shall continue to do so even in the face of untrue, hurtful, defaming comments by some based on an OLD comment taken out of context."

Now *** does it not sound like a typical apologetic response..

what difference does it make between a Homosexual.. a Paedophile.. a necrophiliac living in the UK (or any part of the world)..

why this attitude.. does fame and craving to be acceptable by one and all make one so soft that they are willing to take the points of these Mardood who want to make Halal what Allah Rabbul izzat has Cursed and made Haram..

strange indeed.. "

My Chacha (Uncle) Is Gay! Pakistani and Muslim Parents! Your Children are Celebrating Pink Day Tomorrow in Ontario Public Schools
Posted by: jawed

YOUR children will read a story book tomorrow on Pink day at Ontario Public Schools. The story book name is "My Chacha (Uncle) is gay" The characters belong to Pakistan

The Pictorial story book [written by Nice Mangoes; a Desi writer) tells; "Meet Ahmed! He is a Pakistani and lives in the city of Karachi. He lives with his mother, father and baby sitter, his chacha, and his dadi. Chacha is Abu's brother. People think Chacha is different because he is gay. That doesn't change anything, especially not how much fun they have together. Chacha has a friend called Uncle Faheem, he is a pilot. Ahmed wants to be a pilot when he grows up too! Ahmed desn't understands when people say that only men and women can "love" each other. Because everyone can see how much chacha and Uncle Faheem "love" each other. The way Ahmed's mother and father love each other is the same way chacha and Uncle Faheem love each other."

Seerah School (A movement for the alternate education system) has been launching campaign against Bill 13, Accepting education act since 2012. The gay politicians and activists has been imposing their life style on all others and brainwashing our children in Ontario Public Schools from KG.

MrsKathleen Wynne (ex-education Minister and current Premier of Ontario) took the leading role and played a significant act to make it real. Many of his Muslim (Islamic) friends/liberal activists supported in her endeavor; several of them are leading members of the Muslim/Islamic community associated with Islamic centers and Islamic groups and organizations. Our Muslim/Islamic leadership except few exemptions kept complete silence on these issues. Liberal party members associated with Islamic groups/Masajid have managed to control and neutralize them.

Several Islamic conferences after Bill 13 were organized in GTA including one or two Sisters only conferences. However non of them even indirectly or remotely mentioned this issue in these conferences.

It is a shameful situation. We will be collectively caught as a "criminal" nation in the Day of Judgment if we will not stand now.

Start with two simple agenda items; 1. You will not vote and support those MPPs in the next election who supported and voted for the Bill 13. Tell them clearly, loudly and in advance. We will not accept till the removal of the bill and the Act. 2. Start supporting and participating in all the endeavors that provide alternate education system to our children.

Here are the 10 countries where homosexuality may be punishable by death:

Yemen:According to 1994 penal code, married men can be sentenced to death by stoning for homosexual intercourse. Unmarried men face whipping or one year in prison. Women face up to seven years in prison.

Iran: In accordance with sharia law, homosexual intercourse between men can be punished by death, and men can be flogged for lesser acts such as kissing. Women may be flogged.

Iraq: The penal code does not expressly prohibit homosexual acts, but people have been killed by militias and sentenced to death by judges citing sharia law.

Mauritania: Muslim men engaging in homosexual sex can be stoned to death, according to a 1984 law. Women face prison.

Nigeria: Federal law classifies homosexual behavior as a felony punishable by imprisonment, but several states have adopted sharia law and imposed a death penalty for men. A law signed in early January makes it illegal for gay people countrywide to hold a meeting or form clubs.

Qatar: Sharia law in Qatar applies only to Muslims, who can be put to death for extramarital sex, regardless of sexual orientation.

Saudi Arabia: Under the country's interpretation of sharia law, a married man engaging in sodomy or any non-Muslim who commits sodomy with a Muslim can be stoned to death. All sex outside of marriage is illegal.

Somalia: The penal code stipulates prison, but in some southern regions, Islamic courts have imposed Sharia law and the death penalty.

Sudan: Three-time offenders under the sodomy law can be put to death; first and second convictions result in flogging and imprisonment. Southern parts of the country have adopted more lenient laws.

United Arab Emirates: Lawyers in the country and other experts disagree on whether federal law proscribes the death penalty for consensual homosexual sex or only for rape. In a recent Amnesty International report, the organization said it was not aware of any death sentences for homosexual acts. All sexual acts outside of marriage are banned

I read the following article a few weeks back. I guess the Ugandan's know what is right and wrong.

Uganda throws a party to celebrate passing of anti-gay law

At a stadium in Kampala, 30,000 Ugandans gathered to give thanks to the president, Yoweri Museveni, for passing the anti-homosexuality act. Monday's event combined the fanfare of a mass political meeting with the party atmosphere of a cultural festival.

“There is a fundamental misunderstanding between us and the liberal west," Museveni told the gathering organised by the Inter-religious Council of Uganda. "They say that homosexuality is sex. But it is not sex.” The president continued: “There are other words (in Luganda) for sex. I won’t tell you those words.” The crowd laughed. “But if you take homosexuality, they (the Ugandan people) don’t call it ‘sex’.

They call it ekifire.” A neighbour wearing a Ugandan flag on her head translated: “It means they are half-dead, yet they are still living.”

Museveni spoke at the service without notes, ad-libbing with a jocularity that resonated with the mood of the crowd. Many people there had travelled from rural areas and had already endured many hours of speeches. Over the course of the morning, the crowd poured in by the thousands, filling Kololo stadium to capacity. Museveni was the highlight of the speaker’s bill, and was kept until almost the very last. The audience cheered wildly as he strode to the podium, but silence descended once his speech began.

On the surface of it, Museveni’s opening gamut was pure demagoguery – a jab at the west and an absurd reproach against gay zombies. But, in the context of the day’s events, and Museveni’s own skilful politicking around the act, his remarks revealed much about how homosexuality has been politically loaded in Uganda, presented as a proxy for all the geopolitical and moral evils besetting the nation, derailing economic and spiritual advancement, and darkening the future.

Museveni addresses the rally in Kampala in support of new anti-gay laws. Source: Reuters Many of the speakers condemned the threats made by European donors that aid would be withdrawn should the bill be legislated. A leader from the Inter-religious Council said that the EU should “respect the sovereign rights of other nations and desist from tying homosexuality to development aid,” to deafening applause. He thanked Museveni for “reminding President Obama that Uganda is a sovereign country.” A previous speaker had cribbed Obama in assuring the crowd that “Yes, we can rid Uganda of homosexuals. Yes, we can!” after announcing: “They can stop their dollars, but they have no authority to come here and spread homosexuality.”

Museveni himself shrugged off threats of aid withdrawal with a somewhat petulant avowal: “We don’t need aid… because a country like Uganda is one of the richest on earth.”

This must have rung false for audience members, who travel daily along Kampala’s dirt roads, and many of whom live without access to basic amenities. Mulago, the nation’s flagship public hospital, saw a recent outbreak of diarrheal disease in its paediatric ward after water supplies had been cut due to the hospital’s failure to pay its bills. Political pundits blamed the incident on international donors.

The spectre of the homosexual lobby loomed large at the rally, and featured in a booklet on sale by the ushers at the rally. Written by George Oduch, a senior pastor of the Victory Church of Christian Ministries International, the text was peppered with quotes from the so-called gay manifesto, testament to “the kind of aggressiveness that was in Sodom and Gomorrah… the same with which the homosexual community is promoting this evil cause.”

Those implicated in the gay lobby constituted an odd medley. They included Zimbabwean politician Morgan Tsvangirai, UN official Arie Hoekman, South African lawyer Albie Sachs (alleged to be masterminding the homosexual infiltration of the Kenyan judiciary), and an unnamed Swedish “homosexual doctor” who was claimed to abuse his patients as a prelude to performing their sex change operations.

The ostensible health effects of homosexuality were another key focus of both speeches and educational materials, and the spread of disease a productive refrain. “Homosexuality = AIDS = 100%,” declared one placard, while Museveni instructed the audience that: “The mouth is for eating, it is not for gonorrhoea.” George Oduch’s booklet provided a list of homosexual acts which, in its scatological preoccupations, bore a closer resemblance to the writings of the Marquis de Sade than a Christian treatise. Oduch’s various descriptions and their accompanying pictures exceeded the bounds of prurience. They were explicitly pornographic, of the gonzo not vanilla variety, and audience members (particularly school children) spent much of the day pouring over them with fascination.

There were varying degrees of circumlocution in accounts of sex acts. Museveni, for example, described anal sex as visiting the “wrong address”, to the guffaws of the crowd. The idea of genitals as a kind of destination had clearly caught on, becoming a popular denunciation. As a sign tied to the backside of the man read, “Want here? Wrong address.”

For a nation that styles itself as beset by sexual secrecy, mired in taboos that preclude public discussions about intimate physical acts, these explicit descriptions and images were surprising, but only fleetingly. As soon as these acts were described, they were consigned to the realm of perversity, cast as the practices of “criminals”, “animals” and “devils”. More surprising by far was the atmosphere of celebration and joyfulness – just plain fun – that pervaded the proceedings.

Martin Ssempa anti-gay activist in Uganda Ugandan anti-gay activist Pastor Martin Ssempa carries a national flag while leading a procession to the rally. Photograph: Stringer/Reuters Interspersed with the condemnations of homosexual deviance were jivey musical interludes, dance performance and songs by school choirs. A young woman with a voice like a lark had the audience singing and swaying in unison (the lyrics of the song chorus: “Say ‘no’ to sodomy. No! No! No! No! No!”). The day’s surreal highlight was an act by an acrobatics troupe, which did flik flaks down the red carpet towards the VIPs, causing a momentary fracas among the president’s security detail.

A range of snacks were on offer throughout the proceedings – sweets, biscuits, and popcorn in paper cones. On the grassy areas of the stadium grounds, barbecues were lit. The venue was emblazoned with Ugandan flags, paper copies of which were handed out for free at the entrance, while a roaring trade in Yoweriana (key rings and laminated A4 pages with images of Museveni) was conducted.

The presence of so many children concentrated the jovial nature of the service. They ate messily, slept, and listened to other things on their earphones. They rolled up their placards, bearing slogans of homophobic hatred, and attacked each other with them good-naturedly. When the acrobatics troupe botched an attempt at a complicated human pyramid, they laughed themselves hoarse.

But children featured solemnly in many of the speeches. Speaker after speaker entreated the younger generation to continue the moral crusade that they had begun, to shape the future of Uganda according to local values. The anti-homosexuality act was presented as a beacon of national pride, to be passed on from the current generation of leaders to the next. As one cleric explained, the act had turned Uganda “from being a beggar to being a nation that gives away to other nations. People will come to Uganda to receive your help.”

As Museveni reminded the audience, Kololo stadium – the site of the day’s festivities – was also the site of the nation’s genesis. It was at the stadium on 9 October 1962 that the Union Jack was lowered, independence was inaugurated and the national anthem sung for the first time. Outside the grounds there's a sculpture that commemorates the day, built in 2012 to mark 50 years of Ugandan independence.

After the rally the sculpture was surrounded by school kids, animated by its scale, novelty and emotive force. The sculpture features five Ugandans, a young family perhaps, each figure representing a decade of freedom. They are led by a man, wielding a flag, and followed by a woman and three children. The figures are placed at an angle, so that they seemed to be ascending – propelled forwards as a nation united, into an idealised future.

The Northern Ireland Assembly has rejected gay marriage by an outright majority for the third time.

MLAs voted 51 to 43 today against redefining marriage at Stormont.

Pro-traditional marriage campaigners say those pushing for a change should "take the hint".

Political elite

Callum Webster, a spokesman for The Christian Institute, said: "The people of Northern Ireland are clearly opposed to redefining marriage and it's only the political elite who are trying to force the change on the Province."

"Elected representatives have voted three times in less than two years to keep marriage between a man and a woman, so those pushing for gay marriage should take the hint."

"Just because politicians in Westminster have ridden roughshod over the opinions of hundreds of thousands of ordinary citizens and redefined marriage, doesn't mean Northern Ireland needs to follow suit".

Legislation

The private member's motion in support of same-sex marriage was tabled by six MLAs from the Alliance, Sinn Fein and the Green parties, and called on the Minister of Finance and Personnel to introduce gay marriage legislation.

MLAs rejected same-sex marriage last year by 53 votes to 42, and in 2012 the plans were voted down 50 to 45.

US cuts aid to Uganda over anti-gay law

Last updated: 20 Jun 2014

The United states has cut aid to Uganda and cancelled a military exercise in response to a law that imposes harsh penalties on homosexuality.

A White House statement on Thursday said the move was intended to "reinforce" support for human rights for Ugandans regardless of sexual orientation.

Uganda's new law, signed by President Yoweri Museveni in February, imposes jail terms of up to life for "aggravated homosexuality" which includes homosexual sex with a minor or while HIV-positive.

Widely condemned by donor countries, the law also criminalises lesbianism for the first time and makes it a crime to "help" individuals engage in homosexual acts, the Reuters news agency reported.

Western donors, including the US, had halted or re-directed about $118 million in aid to the east African nation's economy before Thursday's announcement.

Projects targeted by the cuts include funding for a $2.4 million Ugandan community policing program, which was stopped in light of a police raid on a US funded health program at Makerere University.

The White House will move funding for salaries of Ugandan health ministry employees to non-governmental organisations, and reallocate money earmarked for projects in Uganda to another African country, which it did not name.

In addition to financial sanctions, the US also said it would impose visa restrictions on Ugandans
it believes have been involved in human rights violations, including gay rights.

Military cooperation

It also canceled plans for a US sponsored military exercise in Uganda that was meant to include other east African countries. A date had not yet been set for the exercise. Uganda is a key US ally in the fight against the al-Shabab armed group in Somalia, where Ugandan troops form the backbone of an African Union force battling the rebels. US special forces have also been involved in the hunt for Joseph Kony, a Ugandan rebel commander hiding out in neighbouring countries, who is seeking to topple the government.

In Kampala, a government official asked about the US measures said Uganda would not alter its decision to toughen laws against homosexuals.

"Uganda is a sovereign country and can never bow to anybody or be blackmailed by anybody," government spokesman Ofwono Opondo said.

Homosexuality is taboo in most African countries and illegal in 37, including in Uganda where it has been a crime since British rule. (Al Jazeera)

Gay man sentenced for twitter debauchery in Saudi Arabia

Manama: A court in Saudi Arabia has sentenced an homosexual man to three years in prison and 450 lashes for using his Twitter account to promote homosexual contacts.

The man, 24, was arrested after he posted several tweets calling for homosexual relations and expressing his readiness to meet gay men, local daily Al Watan reported on Tuesday.

The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, the religious police, was alerted about the tweets and was able to apprehend the young man after it set him up using an undercover agent.

His mobile phone was searched and several “immoral” pictures were discovered, prompting the Commission to refer his case to the public prosecution.

During the trial, the prosecutor requested a harsh punishment and the confiscation of the mobile phone on charges of promoting debauchery.

The suspect reportedly admitted to using his account on the microblog to contact and communicate with homosexuals.

The court decided that the 450 lashes would be given over 15 sessions.

Homosexuality is banned in Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states that also comprises Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the UAE.

In the bold text you have highlighted, I dont see anything apologetic. Mufti Sahab has clearly mentioned that though there are differences, we still promote co-existence. We cannot alienate them, though they are committing sin, they should be respected as individuals. If we do not respect them, then we will not have a chance to give them the true message.

Recently I watched a video of pakistani actress Veena Malik (posed nude for a magazine inna lillah) who has left movies after meeting Moulana Tariq Jameel. I also saw a previous video of her, where she was fighting with Mufti on a TV Channel as he said it was haram to act in movies. In this video, she clearly mentioned that she was angry with Moulanas and thats the reason she left pakistan and started acting in Indian movies. She said when Tariq Jameel sahab met me, he called me daughter. I was surprised that people like him can even call me a daughter and I said to him immediately that I will never disgrace the respect you have given to me.

Have husn e dhan and pray for Mufti Menk. He has altered many peoples lives. May Allah utilize him more for the benefit of Ummah.

Please forgive me if I have said anything wrong. JazakAllahu khairan.
