Shayk-ul-Hadeeth Zakariyya(RA) relates, Once the Prophet Muhammad sketched a diagram to illustrate the reality of this worldly existence:

Thereafter, the Prophet(SAW) explained,
"The middle line is man; the four surrounding lines (the square) is death which encapsulates him and from which there is no escape; the protruding line is his hopes which extend far beyond his life. The small cross-lines on both sides are illnesses and events which transpire around him. Each short line is a trial...should he escape from one; another awaits...moreover, death surrounds him from all four sides, however his hopes (the protruding line) still extend far beyond death!"

Once our Prophet Isa A.S saw this dunya embellished like a beautiful prostitute so he asked her "who are you?" and the Dunya replied "I am the Dunya" then Isa A.S asked her "how many partners have you had?" then the dunya replied "I have had Billions of partners, every man who has come to this dunya has been my partner. So Isa A.S asked her "How many have you been faithful to?" The Dunya says "none" So Isa A.S said "fool is he who falls in love with you after he has seen what you have done to your previous partners."

I may be mistaken but I thought the Sahaba were (R.A) and the Prophets are (A.S).

Shaykh Sr. Abdul Hai Arifee (RA) whilst attending the funeral of Shaykh Zafar Ahmed Uthmani (RA) recited the couplet,

"The reward of a lifetime of friendship was thus,

My friends and associates came and threw dust."

No matter how intimate the relationship, at the time of funeral, one's acquaintances will try to throw at least three handful of soil in the grave...as if this is the final haqq(right) of a friend. By action, the living imply, 'henceforth, it is you and your deeds.' Once should visit the graveyard to reflect upon these realities and the life to come in the Akhirah.

Salam. May I ask whether anyone has any information as to the origin of this story? was it from a hadith? if so, could you possibly share with me on who narrated it?

Thank you so much for your help in this. :-)
