Anger is another quality of a human being, just like happiness, sadness etc...it is natural to feel anger, but it is how we utilise and express this anger that should be controlled and managed.

(bism1)
(salaam)

Allah swt mentions the qualities of the muttaqin:

"Those who spend (in Allah's cause) in prosperity and in adversity, who repress their anger, and who pardon men, verily, Allah loves the al-Muhsinun (the gooddoers)." [Surah Al-Imran (3) : Ayah 133-134]

Abu Hurairah RA related that the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said:
"A strong person is not the person who throws his adversaries to the ground. A strong person is the person who contains himself when he is angry." [Al-Bukhari; Book 47, No. 47.3.12]

In various hadiths, the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, teaches us how to control our anger. For example:

The Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said, "I know a word, the saying of which will cause him to relax, if he does say it. If he says: 'I seek Refuge with Allah from Satan' then all his anger will go away." [Al-Bukhari; Vol. 4, No. 502]

In other hadiths, the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, teaches us how to deal with anger:

"Anger comes from the devil, the devil was created of fire, and fire is extinguished only with water; so when one of you becomes angry, he should perform ablution." [Abu Daud; Book 41, No. 4766]

Abu Dharr RA narrated: The Apostle of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said to us: "When one of you becomes angry while standing, he should sit down. If the anger leaves him, well and good; otherwise he should lie down." [Abu Daud; Book 41, No. 4764]

In another hadith, the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said:
"If one of you becomes angry then he should be silent."

A few more tips:

1: Ask that person to go away from your sight immediately before the anger controls your mind.

2: If he is impolite and impertinent then you go away from the spot yourself.

3: When you get angry at younger brother or student, then Stop for a moment to think whether or not you displease Allah swt by your sins and wrong doings. If Allah swt also get angry and showers his wrath upon you then where you'll get recourse?

4: If your exasperated due to genuine reasons then scale it with ''Man ahabba lillahi wa abghaza lillahi''

5: If you've to punish someone for his wrong doings then never punish him when your anger envelopes your mind, rather take your time to calm down and then ponder over the punishment that should be on par with the magnitude of his wrong doings.

6: Avoid the delinquencies of others.

7: Allah swt is Rahim and likes those who are kind to others.

Assalaamu alykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakatuhu.

Its sooo true .

I have a very short and hot temper, which seem to be from wher I cma e from too and my previous life as an atheist and so called enlightend and independend woman of the west.

So the that evil naafs and Iblees and his army try their best to make me fail every second of my life as Muslim.
To fight is real, hard and often not to unsderstand with logic.

But I rember one day in my life and motherhood when Allah Ta'ala may have had ansered some word out of anger toward my son that day as he , and all of our 5 kids by now, very wild, balistic,.... Its very difficult at times. But I guess thats the nature of children.

That day he had been very bad again and soon after my anger broke out, Alas. I almost lost him!

That day his dad sent him in the kitchen to get a shopper to discard the pisteachio nut shells.

He did not come back right away. I called, called.

Than suddenly he came running , screaming" I have pain. I have pain while holding his mouth . and choking. I banged him on the back, tried the rescue maneuver but nothing helped.

Than he said "I did not choke . I have pain in my mouth"

So I checked and saw somehow his tounge is peeling off, his cheeks and gums are peeling off.

What in heavens did happen to him. I flipped, panicked , screamed .

Than we found out that he ate drain cleaner we forgot to put away after shopping. That NEVER had happen before!

So I did whatever i could and rembered from medical school and just yelled to get him to a hospital.

But anybody who lives in Pakistan knows that this is quiet a challange!

We called firends to take us .

Ambulance services are a joke and stuck always in the traffic jam, are under lowest quality ever and one better does not get treated by the pramedical stafff!( just some family vans without real equippement)

SO my husband ran off with our son in his arms perspirating and dangling like a drag doll.

"I kept texting my firends , while being in the middle of another, once aagin, difficult pregnancy, to make dua, just to be blamed "ist your own fault", ot stupid questioning "why did you not put that stuff away" or "go to the hospital", etc

Later those sisters suffered similar fates with their children .

SO my husband and son where turned away doctor by doctors. I knew he needed uregent fluids as it was hot and he was severe dehydrated.

They drove from hospital to hospital to be turned away and we could not leave him there as we have no relatives her and are on our own and i needed my husbnad home to help me with the other kids and help me due to my very bad health.

By 2.am. they could come home after finding after 12.a.m. a hospital which took care of him!!!

So finally they found a hospital who gave this little kid now a drip and checked him and he did not need any supervison in a clinic. I studied myself and could do this better in a deeni envoirment with the Blessing of Allah.

So i gave drips, checked him etc. took care over him just as being back to work.

He could not swallow even his spit, neither one drop of water, neither talk,

His little mouth had been eaten almost away by acid, his throat suffered but gladly not more .

I spend all my time at his side , jumpimng up at every move or noise he made, pottied , washed him, cared for him and began to say good bye and accepted the Fact tha allah Ta'ala may take back trhis sacred trust to give hima better place than my lap.

His helth and condition was an up and down for more than 2 weeks,

Finally he could swallow a bit again and could eat some yogurt, ice cream and chocolate pudding I made for him.

And the first spoon he could eat was ice cream and that one he offered to his little baby sister instead of eating himself.

One night he began to talk agin. I jumped up in joy. When i checked his heart beatsm etc , with my strethoscope and put it ih his ears to listen to his heart beat he said" Dukke , dukke. MEa ning he made the sound of his heart beat.

I broke down crying out of joy.

Things got better but we had to get his needle changed for his drips and him and me had f ver and were really not well and than my high blood pressure and pregnancy with meny problems on top of it.

The next night , after I helped releiving himself , he turned blue, grey and collapsed and suddenldy had seizure type fits,

He screamed . He shook> He jekred. His little limbs twisted and his body became stiff and streched through like a bow!
He screamed " I cants see. I cant see. Where are you?

He had turned temporay blind!

I held him tight , tried to prevent him from further seizures.
My husband tried to get valium injactableds I could give him. But this was a fight too as no local small clinic or doctors practic had this!!!

While he was gone i could only scream Allah u Akbar. Help me Allah. Help me!

He felt into a deep sleep after the valium.

Netx day his acsess for the drips needed to be changed but he was not able to be transported around and to wait hours again and for bribes to be paid and many phone calls to take place before anythingh happen.

So a very kind lady pediatriti0n came to help.

She listen to what happen and looked at him abnd said that he has malaria and thypoid also and prescribed medicines.

His eye sight came back quckly and this doctor helped a lot for FREE , while not evn knowing me, for which I will always thank her and keep her in my duas.

He recoverd quickly with the Grace and help of Allah Ta'ala and all tjhose noble souls who made dua for him and his respective qur'aan teacher who came daiyi just to read the manzil on him for recovery .

This all made me getting closer to him and thank Allah T'ala and to realize how evil this tounge , naafs and whispering of the devil is to make you loose your temper and fall pray to your anger..

Nerver get angry.

Wa salaam

I used to have a REALLY bad temper, it's controllable a bit by pattern interrupt technique (Wikipedia that!). It's a technique where you are really "go with the flow" on the state, you stop and interrupt yourself. So for example when you're angry, you must stop yourself : "hold on, why am I so angry? Can anger solve this? Is there any other way to solve?"

Also, some Sunnah works exactly like pattern interrupt. i.e. when you're angry, left and take wudoo, or sit and lie down, or recite ta'awooz.

But now I no longer have any anger problem again since I healed myself with magnet, using The Emotion Code technique. You can google the book if you want, or purchase in Amazon, or purchase it in the official website. It's basically healing trapped emotions from the past, using a simple magnet and your intention (it's not magic or haraam shirki method, Wallahi :D). My anger problem is basically stemmed from the verbal abuse and resentment from the past. Once I released them, it's gone. Bye bye anger problem!

Salaamualaikum to all

May allah protect us all from getting angry. It just brings out the very ugly part in people and can lead to even Kufr. ( authubillah ) . I get angry but learned to control it through the years. I always make duwa that allah helps me with controlling my anger because we never know what can happen when we lose our cool. I appreciate the stories in this thread. Jazakullah khyran.
