The learned Amat al-Ghafur Bint Ishaq[1] bin Afdhal al-'Umari al-Dehlawi was among the righteous and pious women. She was an authority in the sciences of fiqh and hadith. She studied under her father and remained in his company for a considerable amount of time. Thereafter, Shaykh 'Abd al-Qayyum ibn 'Abd al-Hayy al-Siddiqi al-Burhanwi[2] married her and moved to Bhopal (from Delhi). Whenever he faced a problem in fiqh or hadith, he would consult her and benefit from her.
