Giving Moral Support
A young student at a Madrassah, decided to produce a weekly Newsletter, as a form of Dawah. He would record all the Spiritually uplifting words of his Shaykhs and handout the Newsletter outside the Masjid after Jumah Salah every friday.
Several Months went by and Faisal became demoralised, he had received no feedback from any of the Worshipers regarding his newsletter. On top of that he was spending all his free time, in writing, editing and publishing the newsletter.
so he assumed that the Worshipers, were not really benefiting, perhaps many of them were not even bothering to read it he thought.
He finally made a decision to stop publishing and instead focus more time on his studies.
The following Jumah the Worshipers, eagerly awaited to receive the newsletter and where disappointed to find out, it was no longer being Published. Many of them went and complained to Faisal, " where is the Newsletter" they asked.
Faisal replied; " My Brothers, when it was being Published non of you, offered any words of encouragement, now that I have decided to stop publishing you are quick to Complain. How strange is your behavior. When the service was available you took it for granted and offered not even a single word of encouragement, what cause do you have to complain now?"
Just a Thought;
How often do we behave in the same manner, we take things for granted when they are available, offering little or no moral support to those involved in the work. We only realise when the services are no longer available; be it Islamic Websites, magazines, periodicals and many other such works. Whether they are for the Duniyah or the Akhirah. Imagine the great reward for encouraging others, financially or even it is only through words.
May Allah guide us all to what is good and protect us from all that is harmful ameen.
