slmz - Here's a review on the book in the famous New Statesmen magazine US edition.

Inshallah Masjid E Quba in Stamford Hill hope to have a seminar some time after Ramadhan from Turath Publishing on this book and a few other very good titles. Speakers such as the ones that attended a similar event in Euston in June will also inshallah be there.

Subhanallah - This quote from the book mentioned in the above New Statesmen article is simply ajeeb:-

His description of early-morning prayers (fajr) stands as the book's most moving passage, majestic testimony to the joy of faith. After the recitation of the Quran, "every object appeared to be in submission, in communion with the Divine. The dawn itself seemed to pause, to halt and seek the Lord's leave, to ask for illumination from that Divine Light before proceeding. We were immersed in the Quran recitation as if nothing else existed, as if all the vanity of the outer world had vanished and only devout souls inhabited the earth."

May Allah SWT give us such a feeling (or least a fraction of it) when praying fajr and other salaats.

Wslmz,

Yes alhumdolillah i know the brother. The proposed event inshallah is due in Dec holidays.

Also being discussed are proposals to set up Turath classes in Hackney similar to the ones being done currently at Ebrahim College. The classes may be free classes rather then paid. Just need to test the water in terms of will brothers (sisters??) actually attend.
