If you truly believe that Allah (SWT) has ordered this for women, then is it such a great burden to not have men staring at your beauty. What do you get from their glances? Nothing at all, but for the hereafter there is eternal reward. It is difficult for women, very difficult - men can not understand that it is so 'in your face' announcing in these crazy times that you are a muslim woman, especially if you have been used to showing off your 'wares' publically to no-one in particular. I don't necessarily make as much of an effort for my husband either, but I am sure deep down he feels pride that his wife cares enough for him to not care what society says, and it helps men to focus on their religion more too, as they then feel some shame if they are lagging behind a hijaab wife! This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
