It is asked:
Why are our Institutions not producing quality graduates who guide Muslims on contemoorary issues?

You mean Madrasahs. Let me ask you, who are getting graduated in madrasah. Youngsters who have decided to live a content life with few dollars/pounds/rupees/thakkas.

Most of them are coming from tableeghi families. Tableeghis won't discuss and interfere in world affairs, they say "Allah haal ko badlenge". Leave them alone, let them carry out their job.

Let brothers who boast of tough stance send their children to madrasahs, these youngsters are brought up in tough environment and live a luxury lives, they are tough and seasoned warriors and fit to take challenges.

I disagree somewhat.

A lot of students are actually forced to attend and dumped. They don't really want to go. Others end up going because it's traditional and not because they want to go.

Some go due to peer pressure whilst others go so they are away from home.

Only a few who don't come from line of family scholars actually want to go.

At their tender age, they don't actually think of their future or hell fire.

When they actually finish their studies, they are old enough to see right from wrong, that's when the crucial decisions are made.

It's here that work needs to be done.

Today, look at the western scholars, the popular ones, they are a few. What we need is everyone of the students to end up like this.

We don't want our educated scholars to end up just teaching in Maktabs or becoming cabbies or something like that which rotates around Salah times only.

Much more can be done and already covered in other older threads by the same members, it's just being repeated year in year out.

There is saying "uljahna toe aata hai koyee suljhaye bhi toe".

What is the solution. There are truck loads of suggestions, but are dumped because they are not feasible.
We wait for practical solutions. Till then status quo.

For the 3rd time, the suggestion is already given. Just because you don't understand it OR don't wish to follow it then its a different story.

  1. Develop good, professional and well laid out content addressing contemporary issues
  2. Social Media & Google rank content based on popularity
  3. If there is good (Sunnah based content) which is popular then it will stand against Secular/Liberal/Narcissist content

There is not much you can do about Narcissists but you can certainly do a lot about content generated by Narcissists. The intention and plan should be to safeguard the Eemaan of masses against content which is Anti-Islam or unIslamic in nature.

Our Ulama and Institutions have started this 20 years ago but we got bogged down with the debate on Photography being Haram (etc). Now, that majority of Ulama believe that digital photography is permissible, its time to crack on.

THOSE who believe that digital photography is not permissible SHOULD NOT be argued with, instead they should be encouraged to produce good professional content within the confines of the opinion which they agree with.

This will take time and effort. "Ranting" is easy, doing things is hard!

I agree to Mr.Khan. We can't run away from social media. We can't run away from youtube. We must create quality content to counter the liberal, secular narrative. We have to digitize the ilm of deen as well as the Islamic narrative of worldly issues. Create halal content which can keep the muslimeen away from pop culture and sins. Make the presentation of deen attractive enough while it must be within the bounds of Shariah.

Agreed.
My suggestion is don't link it with madrasahs. Create a new group of intellects and execute your ideas.

Many may disagree, tablighis create ideas and execute it meticulously. They know their limitations and act accordingly.

It is being pursued that more Muslim brothers shall participate in social media.

See the status here on this forum.

Hot discussion, powerful suggestion are being offered for 20 crore Indian Muslim population. See the response for that; except Aligarh Prof Maripat, who is responding, who is participating in the discussion. At least 20 from 20 crore population would have participated in the discussion. @ServantOfAllah and @Arafatzafar are not serious in discussion.

Similarly issues related to 25 crore Pakistani population, how many Pakistani residents are seriously participating. How many local Bangladeshi brothers are seriously discussing Bangladesh issues on this forum.

And whatever is being discussed is for sake of discussion only. Guftan, nashistan, barkhwastan. May be to kill time.

Three issues as far as that goes.

(1) The Intention/Niyyah for jumping aboard the social media train, needs to be correct. Social media is very addictive and person can end up doing to feed their nafs, and praise of others. See the following thread on Dopamine addiction www.muftisays.com/forums/55-members-research-group/11963-...

Any action taken has to be purely for the sake of ALLAH. If it is devoid of that then it will have no barakah in it. And on Social media it is difficult to maintain a sincere intention.

(2) The people who are talking on certain topics on Social Media. Need to be knowledgable..rather then just participating for the sake of it.

(3) The participation needs to have clear goals and have some sort of plan to it.

Malcolm X stated:..." I believe in any action that is intelligently directed and designed to get results."

Assalamu alaikum

From what I've gathered people come here, post a few questions, take part in some discussions and then never return maybe because they get harassed by some members here if they dare disagree with them.

Only Nabi's word is final. He is guided by Allah SWT.

All of us have limited vision. Shuyukh say, there are six directions, a person can see in one direction and he is blind in other 5 directions. Only if six people get involved then all the six directions are visible.

Allah SWT is commanding us to involve more people in discussion to consult on any issue. Unilateral decisions are against Quran and Sunnah.

I have been involved during discussion by a selected few elites from the world regarding scientific research. We hear some of the views presented by an invitee are illogical and childish. But the committee always invites and involves them so that may be from his view they may get a good suggestion and this view was missed by the elites. Here a simple error which was overlooked can lead to catastrophe.

The point of the poster is that only Allah Ta'ala knows best which is absolutely correct. Then he has mixed in the supremacy of Allah Ta'ala with the half-baked quote of his "Hazrat" which only Ta'ala knows:

  1. If the Shaykh has said incorrectly
  2. OR his recollection/understanding is faulty
  3. OR it is a translation error

It sounds similar to what Imam Tahawi (RA) said about direction, here:

www.central-mosque.com/index.php/Beliefs/belieftahawiyyah...

38. He is beyond having limits placed on Him, or being restricted, or having parts or limbs. Nor is He contained by the six directions as all created things are.

What are we supposed to do? This Sister seems to think that it is the height of courtesy to let anyone and everyone say whatever they want and just let it slide.

It is a forum and some people do take the time to read and understand every post and it is not criminal to ask "What are you talking about?"

OR "What is your Hazrat talking about?" What six directions???

Problem with Sufees is that they want everyone to merely accept whatever their "Hazrats (or Shuyukh to put it politely) utter" like we take the Qur'aan and Sunnah without question.

The point of the brother would have been perfectly valid and sufficient by the statement, "The word of Nabi (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) is final because he is guided by Allah Ta'ala".

What in the world is the issue with six directions? If taken literally human eye has peripheral vision and traverses many physical directions. If taken in some sort of metaphysical sense then how to you make 6 people coordinate this issue?

With this above post, Brother Ma'az has proven me right in my earlier post.

Here brother Ma'az has presented his view on my post. Other members also have read my post and I am sure they shall contradict with brother Ma'az view.

I say, brother Ma'az has either misunderstood or misinterpreted my post.

A face of a perfect cube will be a perfect square if viewed from angle normal to the square. The same cube face, if it is viewed from different angle, it looks like a rectangle or rhombus or even an uneven shaped quadrilateral.

This is the tragedy of ummah. Whispers from weak members of ummah also have big solutions, ummah ignores them. Tragedy today is that of a few with loud voices only are considered maseehahs or muslehs.

Only Nabi's word is final. He is guided by Allah SWT.

Ummati can err. So don't take unilateral decisions. Your view is not final

All of us have limited vision.
I can't see what is behind me, over me, below me, what is in right and left.

Shuyukh say, there are six directions, a person can see in one direction and he is blind in other 5 directions. Only if six people get involved then all the six directions are visible.

I have explained this with example of cube.

Allah SWT is commanding us to involve more people in discussion to consult on any issue. Unilateral decisions are against Quran and Sunnah.

There are good number of ayah or ahadith on this.
Hazrat Ali RA asked "Yaa Rasulullah SAS agar hamein koyee aisa muamila pesh aa jaye jis ka hukm quran o sunnat mein mazkoor naheen toe uss mein hamare liye kya irshaad hai"
Aap SAS ne farmaya "uss mein fuqha aur aabideen se mashwarah kar ke raaye qayam karo, infaraadi raaye ko naafiz na karo"

At least 5 facepalm tags are welcomed for this post.
