A POSITIVE THOUGHT

aww

it is vital for everyone to start the day with a positive outlook, so to begin my day i start with gratitude towards my Creator with one positive thought:

unlike my 7yr old son who has a hearing problem, i am extremely grateful to Allah s.w.t. for giving me perfect hearing. when i see the frustration on his face when he answers the phone, or when he tries to have a conversation, i feel gratitude for my own hearing, he doesn't care for people or friends because they dont understand him and find him rude when he doesn't respond imediately. He's not lonely or in need of sympathy Allah s.w.t is always with him like he is with you and me. he may be deprived with hearing loss, but i am not deprived today i woke up to hear his voice and all the other sounds around me, and was able to communicate freely with whom i wanted with no frustration in hearing or understanding.

A positive start to the day:
A grandmother tells me of her 2yr old grand daughter who has a disabling condition, that causes her to be constantly ill with fluid in the head that needs to be drained delicate bones, just taken back to hospital due to a chipped bone on her thigh, she is unable to walk or communicate her needs, being only one of twentieth person in the UK with this disability. She needs 24hr monitoring, her mother holds her and comforts her daughters pain all night and her grandmother looks after her all day.

Unlike many two year olds who will be walking, playing, putting there first words and sentences together. Learning independence...

Allah grant us gratitude for all our nemats including those of our children and close ones.

Jazakallahu-khair, a few weeks ago you had asked how we respond or react when we see others with any kind of difficulty or if we ever made dua for them. I didn't respond on that day.

There are plenty of stories and posts out saying things like, if you see someone without legs, appreciate the fact that you yourself have legs and not to be jealous of others over what they have and what we don't, etc etc.

But the question remains, What do we do?

Many people laugh, many people make a mockery, many people show off with their abilities, many people imitate and back bite etc.

I have personal experience of this type of behavior too, so I know what it feels like/felt like, and have lived with it most of my life, but I have never been displeased with Allah. I had, as a kid, always asked Allah for a cure/shifa which is impossible (scientifically, but would need a miracle) but kept making dua because of faith in Allah. I knew it wasn't possible, but thousands and thousands of Dua's are to my name which Allah will give back to me as reward, inshaAllah.

I have made it a habit to instantly make dua for the person and their illnesses or disabilities no matter what religion they are from. I ask Allah to give them shifa, sabr, and make it easy for them and their families. These Dua's are not only during Ramadhan or near the mosque, these Dua's are made in the streets, in the buses, on the train, in the park, practically anywhere and everywhere. But in secret.

I tell my children to do the same thing, for if they do, inshaAllah, Allah may accept their dua and if not at least there will be reward waiting for them, especially for making dua for unknown people.

I taught my children from the beginning that it was Allah's choice why he has made people with such conditions and that if we laughed at them, we would be laughing at Allah's choice. And if Allah has given an illness to us, we should thank Allah for the good things he has given to us.

There is a saying, "Dua can change your takdeer". In some places, if an accident was written for us, our Dua's come in the way as a means of protection from Allah, and the dangers of the accident are removed. We can come out of the accident unscathed.

Dua is a powerful tool. Imagine what it does when we make dua for the ones we don't know.

When nothing seems to go your way
Sadness and grief fills your heart
Do not despair, but raise your hands and pray to Allah
For He is sure to listen and answer to your cries

Have faith in Allah and remember Him the whole while
For he knows your worries and knows your pains
It is only He who has the ability to put things right

If you see no answer to your knock on Allah's door
It's not that He's forgotten your needs or your knock
He never forgets nor ignores His servants call

He's only replaced your wish with something far better
Stored away in the afterlife just waiting for you
After all the afterlife is the reason we continue in life

Have full faith and trust in Allah and don't lose hope
He will have waiting for us in Paradise
Endless happiness, enjoyment, peace and delight

So be patient through hardships and difficulties when they befall
And Jannah will be your eternal and final abode (Ameen)

Subhanallah, we are the most blessed of all people because we are from the ummah of Sayyiduna Rasulullah sallallaahu alaihi wasallam's ummah, we are the ummah of the most favoured prophet of Allah, we are more than that of all the ummahs of all the other Ambiya Alayhis salam put together.

Our ummah will be the first to enter jannah, above all the others.
