I was reading on why Indian muslims fail. They blame sufees or deobandi ulema, as they live and preach isolation.
Sufees.... 0.01% of Indian muslim population
Deobandi Ulema 0.01% of Indian muslim population.
Who is stopping the remaining 99.98% population to grow. What is the elite class doing, why can't they expand their base. Why can't the elite in possession of great ideas lead the remaining 99.98%, who stops them. They fail because they "increas the throttle of the vehicle in neutral gear position", only noise and smoke, vehicle will not move an inch.
Jamaat-e-Islami recruit members who have already tasted success and boasts we are a elite society. But they offer illogical and non-practicable solutions to Indian Muslims.It is impossible to get the position, incidentally they are holding. Gene factor comes into picture.
You have hit the nail. If we can't speak good about a muslim specially an aalim, we should remain silent. I humbly request brothers to follow this golden rule for all ulema and not just the ones we are biased to. Otherwise we make the fitnah in the ummah worse.
This is related to computer problem solving:
Top down approach:
starts with the big picture. It breaks down from there into smaller segments.
A bottom-up approach:
Breaking the problem into smallest possible(and practical) parts.
Finding solutions to these small sub-problems.
Merging the solutions you get iteratively(again and again) till you have merged all of them to get the final solution to the "big" problem.
In India, There were two reformist in their time period, one is maulana Maududi sab and other Maulana Ilyas sab.
Maulana Maududi believed in top-down approach.
Maulana Ilyas RA believed in bottom-up approach.
Our experience is; In India; Even after 70 years "top-down approach" is yet to be a reality, and our generation may not witness it. While bottom-up approach is giving fruitful results and they are universally visible.
I explain this through an example; Recently airport authorities have made available Prayer Rooms in Indian airports. We didn't start offering prayers after prayer facility was made available to us. Rather; Large number of muslims started offering prayers on Airport lounges. This forced the authorities to make arrangements for these large number of muslims to peacefully offers prayers.
Recently there was a dispute a "muslim policeman vs state". The judge asked, what is unique about you, if beard is so important in your religion they why thousands won't practice it. This situation would not have arise if muslim masses would have sported beard, similar to our sikh brothers wear turbans. But the muslim policeman struggled but could defend himself and save his beard.

Maualana maududi sab set usools that Sahabah and anbiya AS are ordinary humans like us, they can be targeted and criticize. May Allah give them hidayah, His followers continue to do tabarrah of sahabah and criticize anbiya even today.
Maulana tariq jameel sab has to be just reminded, you have targeted the sahabah, he submits and presents his rujoo. He follow deobandi usools. Hazrat jee RA once said "don't discuss about camel of rasulullah SAS, during hijrath why did it took so much danger, your imaan is in danger"
Brothers who hurling allegations against peer sab, can they take witness box and prove his wrong doings. All wild allegations. There are usools of delivering justice in islam,let us follow that.
