Assalam alaykum,
Sufferings we sometimes experience are from the Bounty of Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, from which He causes us to benefit. In this regard, one may cite that Hadith in which the Prophet of Islam, peace be upon him, said:--
"NO MUSLIM SUFFERS WEAKNESS, ILLNESS, SORROW, VEXATION OR GLOOM--EVEN
THE THORN THAT PRICKS HIM--WITHOUT ALLAH THEREBY EXPIATING SOME OF HIS
MISDEEDS." [Bukhari (2). 7. 148-49]
He also said, peace be upon him, of a Muslim's satisfaction with destiny in good times and bad:- "A BELIEVER IS LIKE BUDDING GRAIN: WHENEVER THE WIND BLOWS, IT SWAYS; AND WHEN THE WIND STOPS, IT RE-STRAIGHTENS: HE BENDS WITH AFFLICTION. AND A WICKED MAN IS LIKE A STURDY CEDAR, STANDING ALOFT UNTIL ALLAH BREAKS IT ASUNDER WHENEVER HE WILLS." [Bukhari 5644 S]... The Noble Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, also said:-- "WHOMEVER ALLAH WANTS GOOD FOR HE AFFLICTS SOMEWHAT" [Bukhari 5645. S]... that is because "ALLAH LOVES THOSE WHO ARE TRULY PATIENT." (Surat Ali-Imran: 3:146)
Indeed, "HOW WONDEROUS IS THE MATTER OF THE BELIEVER, FOR ALL THAT HAPPENS TO HIM IS GOOD; IF GOOD BEFALLS HIM HE SHOWS GRATITUDE, AND IT IS BEST FOR HIM; AND IF ILL BEFALLS HIM HE SHOWS PATIENCE, AND IT IS BEST FOR HIM," said the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, as reported in [ Sahih Muslim, (14), 4.2295].
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
