The best gift a father can give his child is good Akhlaaq (Hadith

MashaAllah, very wisely used from the road signs and us thread.

There is a little story here, I first heard this Hadith in a lecture by Shaykh Riyadhul Haq and then passed on the message whilst on holiday in a Muslim country.

We were waiting for a Taxi to give us a ride to a certain destination, many of the taxi drivers were giving very high prices. We finally found a taxi who we haggled with and finally agreed on a price.

Anyway as we were traveling along we were having a private family discussion with regards to the behavior of the family members and why it has become like that, we went on discussing methods of how to get the adult children to behave Islamicly and have respect for their elders as well as the youngsters. It was here that I mentioned this Hadith.

Now it was apparent that the taxi driver was listening to the conversation, so I had, on purpose, spoke a little louder so he didn't feel like he was eaves dropping. My aim was to educate those in the taxi as well as the driver with what ever I could.

As we reached our destination, I asked the driver how much I owed him, but instead he asked me "What was the best gift a father could gift his son?", SubhanAllah, the passengers were shocked to hear a driver of a taxi was not interested in his money. This bought joy to their hearts and could not believe what they had witnessed and the whole journey had a major lasting effect on everyone.

Alhumdulillah, the words of Shaykh Riyadhul Haq pierced them all and inshaAllah with lasting effects.

Don't worry, the taxi driver was given his fare as well as extra money. InshaAllah, he went away with a very strong message of the Prophet (saw).
