Ibn Al Qayyim رحمه الله says: "Wasting time is worse than death because death seperates you from this world whereas wasting time seperates you from Allah".
Therefore we must make the best use of the precious little time we have left for death is waiting for us around each corner and it will take us very swiftly without delay. It will not wait for us to change tomorrow or next week. It will take us when our time is up. So when will we decide to change? When it is too late?
So we must act NOW before death takes us for we are gambling with our hereafter! In the next world we will beg Allah for one more chance but by then it would have been too late!
Therefore let us make the necessery changes to our lives right NOW! For tomorrow may never come!
The Prophet Mohammad صلى الله عليه وسلم, used to call on Muslims to take the initiative to do good deeds before any obstacles arise. For instance, he said,"Lose no time to do good deeds before you are caught up by one of seven calamities awaiting you: a starvation which may impair your wisdom; a prosperity which may mislead you; an ailment which may damage your health; an old age which may harm your senses; a sudden death; the Dajjal (Antichrist); or Doomsday, which is indeed the hardest and most bitter."(at-Tirmidhi, al-Baihaqi)
Every moment of life is a trust of Allah with us. We have to use these moments in what is of advantage in this world and the next, according to Allah's commands. If we use them otherwise, then that is a betrayal of this trust. [Mufti Taqi Usmani]
How Imam Abu al-Wafa' Ibn 'Aqeel al-Hanbali رحمه الله Valued Time
Imam Abu al-Wafa' Ibn 'Aqeel al-Hanbali ('Ali Ibn 'Aqeel) رحمه الله was born in 431 A.H. and passed away in 513 A.H. He was one of the great personalities of Islam, one of the luminaries of the world and from among thr intelligent people of the human race. He used to say:
"It is not lawful for me to waste a single moment of my life. Even to the extent that my tongue is unable to converse and debate, and my eyes are unable to study. I use my thinking power during my time of rest and while I am lying down. I do not get up without having already thought about what I am going to write.
I find my desire for knowledge while I am in my eighties of my life even more intense than my desire for knowledge when I was 20 years old. I make an all out effort to even shorten the times of my meals, to the extent that I prefer eating cake that is softened with water over eating bread because of the difference in time that it takes to chew [cake that is softened with water is quicker to chew than bread]. This I do so that I may have more time to study or to do something else that is of benefit which I would not have been able to do.
Those who have been endowed with intelligence unanimously say that the greatest thing a person can acquire is time. It is a boon with which opportunities can be taken, for responsibilities are many." (Dhayl Tabaqat al-Hanabilah of Ibn Rajab رحمه الله, vol 1)
One day of the many days. There was a man traveling
on a trip with his Wife and Kids. And on the way he met
someone standing in the roadway. So he asked him:
Who are you? He said: I am the money.
So the man asked his wife and kids: Should we ask him
to ride with us? They said together: Yes of course because
with the money it can help us if we wanted to do anything
and if we wanted to get anything we desired. So they took
the Money to ride with them.
And the vehicle continued its way until the man met someone
else on the road. So the Father asked: Who are you? He said:
I am the high position and power.
So the father asked his wife and kids: Should we ask him to ride
with us? So they all answered together in one voice: Yes of course
because with the high position and power we have the ability to
do anything we want and own anything we desired. So they took
the high position and power with them. And the vehicle continued
to finish its trip.
And likewise he met in the same manner many people which give
the pleasures and desires of this life, until... They met one person
on the way... The Father asks him Who are you? He said:
I am Deen-e-Islam (Religion Islam).
So the father, wife, and kids said all together in one voice: No,
no this isn't the time, we desire the pleasures of this life and
world (Dunya), and the Deen will prevent us and ban us from
these things and it will take control over us, and we will be
worn-out from being loyal to it and its learning. And
the Halal (Lawful) and the Haram (Forbidden), and this
thing prayer and that thing Hijab, and this fasting , and and and
and and etc, It will be a burden upon us!
But what is certain is that we will definitely return for you to
pick you up but only after we enjoy this life and everything in it.
So sadly they left him behind and the vehicle continued its trip.
And out of no where something appeared in the middle of the road.
It was a check point in the road and it had a sign saying, STOP!
And they found a man gesturing for the father to get out of the vehicle.
So the man said to the father: The trip has ended as far as you are
concerned! And it is upon you to get out and come with me.
The father was shocked with fear and didn't say a word.
So the man said to him: I am searching for the Deen-e-Islam.
Is he with you?
He answered: No I left him not too far back. So if you can let me go back,
I can get him for you. You do not have the ability to go back,
your trip has ended and there is no going back now. returning is
impossible said the man.
But I have, money, high position and power, My Wife, My Kids, and
and and and and and on.
The man said to him: They will not benefit you nor will they protect
you in front of Allah (SWT). Not one bit!
And you will leave all of this, and not one of them will help you
except for the Deen-e-Islam you know? The one which you left back
in the road. So the father asked: And who are you exactly?
I AM DEATH
The one which you were needless of and didn't take into account
in your trip!
The father looked at his vehicle and found his wife taking control
of it and continuing the trip with all of its passengers but him. And
none of them stayed with him, and none of them helped him in any way.
Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (pbuh) said: The worse of people is
the one who trades his next world for enjoyment of this world,
and worse than him is the one who trades his next world for
enjoyment of someone else (in this world).
Allah (SWT), the Majestic said: "Say: If your fathers and your sons
and your brethren and your mates and your kinsfolk and property
which you have acquired, and the slackness of trade which you fear
and dwellings which you like, are dearer to you than Allah and
His Messenger and striving in His way, then wait till Allah brings
about His command: and Allah does not guide the transgressing people.
" Noble Qur'an (9:24)
Allah (SWT), the Majestic said: "Every soul shall taste of death, and
you shall only be paid fully your reward on the resurrection day;
then whoever is removed far away from the fire and is made to
enter the garden he indeed has attained the object; and the life of
this world is nothing but a provision of vanities."
Noble Qur'an (3:185)
Allah (SWT), the Majestic said: "And leave those who have taken
their religion for a play and an idle sport, and whom this world's life
has deceived, and remind (them) thereby lest a soul should be given
up to destruction for what it has earned:"
It is reported that Al-Hasan Al-Basrī - Allāh have mercy on him - once said during the funeral of a man:
"May Allāh have mercy on the man who works for the likes of this day; for today you are able to do what these brothers of yours, the residents of these graves, cannot do. So make full use of your health and free time before the day of distress and accounts comes upon you."
Arif-billah Dr Abdul Hayy Arifi (Allah have mercy on him) said,
'Time management is part of the Shariah.
The manner in which Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to divide his time is explicitly reported in a tradition quoted in (the book) Shamail e Tirmizi.
That is, when at home Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to divide his time into three parts. The first one was for worship of Allah. The second for his wives (and other household members). The third for his special Companions.'

SubhanAllah... What love and desire deen.. May Allah give us the same love for deen..Ameen..
Yahya Ibn Ma'een رحمه الله is recognised as a great scholar of the science of hadeeth. His knowledge of hadeeth was extensive. Experts, such as Imam Ahmad Ibn Hanbal رحمه الله, would say, "If Yahya doubts the authenticity of a particular hadeeth, then regard his opinion as authoritative."
An interesting incident is quoted which displays his quest for knowledge and the importance he placed upon time. One day, he set out to acquire a hadeeth from Muhammad Ibn Fudail رحمه الله. As Muhammad Ibn Fudail رحمه الله began to narrate from memory, "Hammad Ibn Salamah has narrated," Yahya رحمه الله stopped him and said, "I would prefer you to narrate the hadeeth to me by reciting it from one of your books of ahadeeth rather than from memory."
It was not that Yahya رحمه الله doubted Fudail رحمه الله, who was an eminent scholar in his own right, but his care and caution in narrating only ahadeeth led him to make the request. Fudail رحمه الله, without any hesitation, stood up to enter his home and bring the particular book. While doing so, Yahya رحمه الله caught hold of his garment and requested, "Narrate it to me verbally first, as I fear that I may not live to have this opportunity again."
Fudail رحمه الله then proceeded to narrate the hadeeth to him verbally and thereafter fetched the book and recited it to him again.[al-Musnad al-Jami'; Shama'il Tirmidhi]
Every moment of life is precious.[Pearls from the Path]
Abul-Faraj Ibn al-Jawzi رحمه الله wrote to one of his sons:
"Know, my son, that days consist of hours, and hours are made of the breaths you take. Every breath is a treasure chest, so beware of letting a breath pass by with no benefit. You do not want to find an empty treasure chest on the Day of Judgement and regret. Indeed, a man once said to 'Amir Ibn 'Abd Qais رحمه الله: 'Stop, I want to talk to you.' So he replied: 'Hold the sun in your hands [i.e. stop time] so I can talk to you.'"

Sayyiduna Mu'adh Ibn Jabal رضي الله عنه said that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said:
"The people of Paradise will not regret, except one thing: the hour that passed them by and in which they made no remembrance of Allaah."
[Narrated by Bayhaqi in Shu`ab al-iman (1:392 #512-513) and by Tabarani. Haythami in Majma` al-zawa'id (10:74) said that its narrators are all trustworthy (thiqat), while Suyuti declared it hasan in his Jami` al-saghir (#7701)]
"We once went to visit a worshipper who was sick and found him crying, looking at his feet. We asked, 'Why are you crying?' to which he replied, 'They did not become dirty in the path of Allah.' Another person cried, and they asked: 'Why are you crying?' He answered: 'Due to a day that passed without me fasting it and a night that passed without me standing [in prayer during] it.'"
