Abdullah ibn 'Umar رضي الله عنه , on his deathbed:

"I do not feel sad about leaving anything in this world except fasting*in the hot days of summer, and standing in*prayer during the night."

Dinner with Imām Ahmad b. Hanbal rahimullah

Ishāq b. Hānī said,

❝I was eating dinner with Imām Ahmad and some relatives. We started talking and he [Imām Ahmad] was eating, [we noticed that] he was wiping his hand with his handkerchief after every bite and saying: 'al-hamdu lillāhi wa bismillāh'.

He then he said to me: 'Eating and praising [Allāh] is better than eating and staying silent.'❞

Shaqiq al balkhi (rh) said: "The people say four things with their tongues while their actions contradict them.
1. They say that they are the servants of Allah yet act as if they are the servants of no one and no one is their master.
2. They say that Allah is their sustainer, yet their hearts are not content without the wealth of this world.
3. They say the hereafter is better than this world yet they spend day and night accumulating the things of this world without even distinguishing between halal and haram.
4. They say that death is a certainty yet act as if they will never die."

Abdul-Waahid ibn Adam at-Tawaawees:

"I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) [in a dream], and with him were a number of Companions. He was standing in a certain spot, and I extended greetings of peace to him. He answered my greetings of peace, after which I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, why are you standing here like this?' He (ﷺ) said, 'I am waiting for Muhammad ibn Ismaa'eel Al-Bukhari.' A number of days later, I learned of his death, and I found out that he died at the very same time during which I saw the Prophet (ﷺ) [in my dream]."

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali said: It was narrated that 'Umar Ibn al-Khattaab (radiyAllahu'anhu) said:

"By avoiding that which Allah has forbidden, Allah will accept du'aa and tasbeeh. And it was narrated that Abu Dharr (radiyAllahu'anhu) said:

"The amount of du'aa with righteousness that is sufficient is like the amount of salt that is sufficient with food." And Muhammad ibn Waasi' said: A little du'aa*is sufficient with piety.

One of the Salaf said: Do not expect a response when you have blocked the way with sins. One of the poets also commented on this by saying:

We call upon Allah for every hardship, then we forget Him when the hardship is relieved.

How can we hope for an answer to our du'aa's, when we have blocked its way with sins?"

(Jaami' al-'Uloom wa'l-Hukam 1/107, 108)

Ahmad Bin Sulaiymaan An-Najaad said (In Amaaliyyah) - as reported in the Tafsir of Ibn Kathir - "Aslam Bin Sahl Bahshal related to us that 'Ali Bin Al-Hassan Bin Sulaiymaan (Who is Abu As-Sha'athaa Al-Khadrami) related to us that Abu Mu'awiyah related to us

He (i.e. Abu Mu'awiyah ) said : " I heard Al-Aa'mash saying :A Jinn came to us. So I said to him. "What kind of food you like the most?"

So the Jinn said "Rice".

So we brought it to him. And I saw pieces of it being lifted and I did not see anyone! So I said: "Do you have amongst you the same desires (Al-Ahwaai which in this case can also be translated as deviations or misguidance) that we have among us?"

The Jinn said: "Yes!"

So I said: "How are the Raafidah amongst you?"

He said: "The worst of us!"

Al-Hafidh Ibn Kathir said: "I took this Isnaad to our shaiykh Al-Hafidh Abi Al-Haajj Al-Muzzi. He said "This Chain is authentic till Al-Aa'mash"

Refer to Tafsir Ibn Kathir - Soorah Al-Jinn 8/242

Imam ash-Shaafi'ee rahimullah :

"Four things strengthen the intellect: To avoid superfluous speech, to use Siwaak, to sit with righteous people and to sit with the scholars."

When life pushes you to the end of the cliff,
Do not despair, have trust in Allah سبحانه وتعالى
He will either teach you how to fly,
Or catch you when you fall!

You will taste the sweetness of faith, when you forgive people before you sleep and wash your heart with excuses for their negative behaviour.

Acknowledge the beginning of each morning, by recognizing the opportunity it brings. Each morning opens the doors of hope and optimism.

A happy person is one who learns from his past, prepares for his death, and remains in a state of patience and gratitude, regardless of his circumstances.

"The issue of the heart is not a matter of play, for it
can be ruined in an instant but take lifetime to revive
and rectify just like the making or rebuilding of a town.
We should all strive our hardest to rectify our hearts
and make them thriving communities." -
Rectifying the Heart - Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad d.b

Some people are puzzles that are best understood in pieces rather than put together.
