"Make an effort for the world to the extent of your stay here
And make an effort for the hereafter to the extent of your stay there."

The light of the "lamp of life" is very weak and dim
The "winds of death" are constantly blowing and could extinguish the "lamp of life".
Make an effort to attain the lamp of love of Allah in your heart
So that when the lamp of life is extinguised, the everlasting emergency lights of Allah Ta' ala ignite from within.

Just please Allah

If the Ummah follows the Sunnah of the Nabi
Then their ship will safely come out of the storm.
This is precisely why it is so important for Muslims to be as attractive as they possibly can be, both exterior and interior, spiritually.
Perhaps the noor of our deen will cast light for those traversing a darkened path.
Happiness is always a by-product. You don't make yourself happy by chasing happiness. You make yourself happy by being a good person. The happiest people are people who don't even think about being happy. They just think about being good neighbors, good people. And then happiness sort of sneaks in the back window while they are busy.
[Handbook for the Heart]
Next is gratitude---a wonderful precursor to happiness and love. We are often like harried consumers who rush into the store to buy dozens of doughnuts but, once they get home, moan and groan about the holes in the doughnuts. We forget to see the abundance of doughnuts-----we see only what's lacking. As you go through your daily activities, allow yourself to look for substance and abundance, rather than focusing on the holes. This attitude goes a long way toward opening your heart, your mind, and your spirit to happy, loving feelings.
[ Handbook for the Heart]
Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.
Leave the rest to Allah.
Seek what you wish from Allah, not from men.
Be satisfied in joy; there is honor therein.
On friends and relatives be not a burden.
Rich is he who hopes from Allah, not from men.
[Imam Ghazali]
So long as you are in this world, be not surprised at the existence of sorrows. For, truly, it manifests nothing but what is keeping with its character or its inevitable nature.
[Ibn Ata'Allah]
This world is transitory and our life therein but a moment borrowed, our breaths numbered, yet our indifference reckless.
[Abu Bakr al Siddiq]
The key to dignity in this life is obedience to Allah and the key to getting ready for the Hereafter is having short hopes.
[Imam al Mannawi]
Patience comes in three stages: first, one learns not to follow the baser self; second, one learns to content oneself with one's fate; finally, one surrenders oneself to the Master's will and discovers within love and compassion, the greatest of all achievements.
[Imam Ghazali]
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
