Do not involve yourself in anything other than absolutely necessary things and real discernible things/needs. Organize your devotional practices and you will find your time extended due to the baraka (blessings) in it. [Ahmad al Zarruq]

Ash-Shafi' said, "The one who admonishes his brother secretly, he has advised sincerely and has honored him. If he does it outwardly (among others) then he has dishonored and shamed him."

O people who take pleasure in a life that will vanish, falling in love with a fading shadow is sheer stupidity. [Ibn al-Qayyim]

"The word "shams" (sun) is feminine, and "qamar" (moon) is masculine. The sun burns itself out to give light and life to everything around, and the moon is muneer, meaning it reflects the light. Within itself it has no light; it radiates the brilliance of the sun. So when we shine as men, the implication is that we are reflecting the glorious light of our women. May Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'aala be pleased with them."- Shaykh Abdullah Adhami

Ab Hurayrah (radiyAllhu 'anhu) was asked about taqw. He said, "It is a road full of thorns. One who walks it needs to have extreme patience."

If someone gave you a beautiful, expensive new hat, wouldn't you be grateful for the generous gift? But shouldn't you be even more grateful for the One Who gave you the head to put that hat on. [Shaykh Muzaffer Ozak]

"Ward off passing thoughts, for if you do not, they will become ideas. Ward off ideas, for if you do not, they will become desires.Fight the desires, for if you do not, they will become resolve and determination. And if you do not ward them off, they will become actions. If you do not resist them with its opposite, they will become habits. And it will be difficult for you to get rid of them." "If you're in prayer, take care of your heart; if you're eating, take care of your throat; if you're in another man's house, take care of your eyes; if you are among people, take care of your tongue.

Remember two matters and forget two matters: Remember Allah and death; forget any good that you have done to another and any evil that was done to you by another."

[Luqmaan (A.S)]

There is nothing more conducive to concentration of the heart on God than silence and fasting, just as there is nothing more conducive to scattering than too much food and too many words, even about what concerns us. [Letters of Sheikh al Darqawi]

The heart is comforted by true words,
just as a thirsty man is comforted by water.

O, friend! Nobody veils you, but yourself.
In your path there is no thorn or weed, but yourself.
You said: Shall I reach the Beloved or not?
Between you and the Beloved there is nobody, but yourself.

If you cannot be of benefit to the Muslims, then do not harm them; if you cannot make them happy, then do not make them sorrowful; if you cannot please them, then do not abuse them; and if you cannot praise them, then do not disparage them. [Yahya ibn Mu'adh]
