Do not fix your hopes on your health and do not laugh away life.
Remember how they walked and now their joints lie separately,
and the tongue with which they talked lightly is eaten away by worms.
[Hasan al-Basri]

The best awareness is for a man to have self-awareness,
And the best knowledge is for a man to stop at the limit of his knowledge.
[Shaykh Abdullah Adhami]

--Do not sit idle for indeed death is seeking you--

"To advise others is an easy matter, the difficulty is accepting advice since it is bitter for those who follow their own inclinations and desires."
[Abu Hamid]

"You who commit a sin, do not feel secure about the results, for what goes along with the sin is more serious than the sin itself.
Your lack of shame before the angels, who witness you when you commit the sin, is more serious than the sin itself.
Your laughter when you sin, as you forget the punishment of Allah is more serious than the sin itself.
Your delight if you get a chance to sin, is more serious than the sin itself.
Even your disappointment, if you miss a chance to sin is more serious than the sin itself."

Truly, hearts rust like iron rusts and their polishing is LA ILLAHA ILLALLAH, Whoever is overcome by his desires because of the love of this life will of neccesity become enslaved to its people. Whoever is content by being satisfied with little will find humiliation lifted from him.(Imam Shafi RA)

"Ward off passing thoughts, for if you do not, they will become ideas.
Ward off ideas, for if you do not, they will become desires.
Fight the desires, for if you do not, they will become resolve and determination.
And if you do not ward them off, they will become actions.
If you do not resist them with its opposite, they will become habits.
And it will be difficult for you to get rid of them."
[al-Fawâid by Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah]

Don't mind criticism.

If you must criticize,
try criticizing the fault instead of the person.

Be quick to praise, slower to criticize.

We can often do more for other people by correcting our own faults than by trying to correct theirs.

To be agreeable when we disagree
is a goal most of us have to keep working at.

Most people are lonely because
they build walls instead of bridges.

Cooperation can be spelled with two letters-WE.

If knowledge without action were of benefit,
why did Allah condemn the scholars of the People of the Book?
And if action without sincerity were of benefit,
why did He condemn the hypocrites?
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
