Shaykh Al-Hafidh Ibn Hajar Al-Asqalani (RA) has written his magnum opus named "Al-Fathul-Bari" which is a commentary on Saheeh Bukhari. In it the following facts are mentioned.

1) Imam Bukhari (RA) compiled his Saheeh Al-Bukahri over 40 years

2) Imam Bukhari (RA) analysed over 600,000 Ahadeeth

3) Imam Bukhari (RA) chose 7397 Ahadeeth in his book entitled "Saheeh Bukhari"

4) Imam Bukhari (RA) mentions 2602 Ahadeeth which are UNIQUE and NOT REPEATED

5) Imam Bukhari (RA) mentions 22 Ahadeeth which are termed as "Thulathiyaat" meaning that there are ONLY 3 Narrations between Imam Bukhari (RA) & Rasul-ullah (Sallaho Alaihe Wassallam)

6) Imam Bukhari (RA) calls these 22 "his pride"

7) Out of these 22, 11 ARE CONFIRMED narrated by Sayyidina Makki Ibn Ibraheem (RA) who was a student of Imam Abu Haneefa (RA), Imam Malik (RA), Imam Auzai (RA) and many great Imams but he singles out his teacher Imam Abu Haneefa (RA) and says, ""Imam Abu Hanifa was the most knowledgeable person of his time."

Amazing praise from an outstanding Master of Hadeeth (i.e. Sayyidina Makki Ibn Ibraheem (RA)) and teacher of Imam Bukhari (RA) from whom half of the pride (11 out of 22) are taken!
