I pray that you are all in the best of health and Imaan inshAllah.


I thought that I'd share something with you all which I find quite beneficial as a muslim sister.I hope that this helps sisters, or brothers in some way( perhaps you can print a copy off and give it to your mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, aunts etc)


It's actually from one of my favourite books called The Ideal Muslimah by Muhammad Ali Al-Hashimi. It's basically just a list of things that the ideal muslimah should have with her community.Here goes ..




The Ideal Muslimah & Her Community/Society



  1. She has a good attitiude towards others and treats them well

  2. She is truthful

  3. She avoids giving false statements

  4. She gives sincere advice

  5. She guides others to righteous deeds

  6. She does not cheat, deceive or stab in the back

  7. She keeps her promises

  8. She is not a hypocrite

  9. She is characterized by shyness (hayaa)

  10. She is proud and does not beg

  11. She does not interfere in that which does not concern her

  12. she refrains from slandering the honour of others and seeking out their faults

  13. She does not show off or boast

  14. She is fair in her judgements

  15. She does not oppress or mistreat others

  16. She is fair even to those whom she does not like

  17. She does not rejoice in the misfortunes of others

  18. She avoids suspicion

  19. She refrains from backbiting and spreadin malicious gossip

  20. She avoids cursing and foul language

  21. She does not make fun of anybody

  22. She is gentle and kind towards people

  23. She is compassionate and merciful

  24. She strives for people's benefit and seeks to protect them from harm

  25. She helps to alleviate the burden of debtor

  26. She is generous

  27. She does not remind the beneficiaries of her charity

  28. She is patient

  29. She is easy going and does not bear grudges

  30. She is easy on people, not hard

  31. She is not envious

  32. She avoids boasting and seeking fame

  33. Her speech is not exaggerated or affected

  34. She has likeable personality

  35. She is friendly and likeable

  36. She keeps secrets

  37. She is of cheerful countenance

  38. She is lighthearted and has a sense of humour

  39. She tries to make people happy

  40. She is not over strict

  41. She is not arrogant or proud

  42. She is humble and modest

  43. She is moderate with regard to her clothing and appearance

  44. She loves noble things and always aims high

  45. She is concerned about the affairs of the muslims

  46. she honours her guests

  47. She prefers other over herself

  48. She checks her customs and habits against Islamic standards

  49. She follows Islamic manners in the way she eats and drinks

  50. Spreading the greeting of Islam

  51. She does not enter the house other than her own without permission

  52. She sits wherever she finds room in a gathering

  53. She does not converse privately with another woman when a third present

  54. She respects elders and distinguished people

  55. She does not look into other people's houses

  56. She avoids yawning in a gathering

  57. She follows Islamic etiquette when she sneezes

  58. She does not seek the divorce of another woman so that she may take her place

  59. She chooses the work that suits her feminine nature

  60. She does not imitate men

  61. She calls people to truth

  62. She enjoins what is good and forbids what is evil

  63. She is wise and eloquent in her da'wah (preaching)

  64. She mixes with righteous women

  65. She strives to reconcile between Muslim women

  66. She mixes with other women and puts up with their insults

  67. She repays favours and is grateful for them

  68. She visits the sick

  69. She does not wail over the dead

  70. She does not attend funerals (follow bier)





May Allah give us the inclination to become the Ideal Muslims/ahs the way the Quran and sunnah have described. May He also give us the capability to understand His deen better than we already do.
