When a husband and wife are talking and his phone starts ringing, she is bound to complain and ask him to switch the phone off and concentrate on her. Mawlana Tariq Jameel Sahib says so similarly regarding Salaah there is a request of Allah taala and that is, When you perform Salaat, let it be just Me and you and no one else. In the Quran, Allah taala says, Fa ithaa farghta fansab, wa ilaa Rabbika farghab Surah Al Inshirah Verse 7-8

The owner of a slave asked him, What will you wear? The slaves reply was, Whatever you allow me to wear. The owner asked, What will you eat? The reply was, Whatever you feed me The owner asked, Where will you sleep? The reply was, Wherever you tell me to sleep. At this the owner asked, Do you not have any choice of your own?

Shaykh Mumtaz ul Haqq says that when people used to request his Shaykh, Mawlana Ghulam Habib Sahib for du'a, he used to say, "Do you just want me to make du'a for you or do you want all the good people of the world to make du'a for you?"
The reply would obviously be, "All the good people as well."
His reply would be, "Become pious and you will have a share in the du'a of hundres of millions of people."
He explains that this is because whenever a Mulsim recites the Tashahhud in Salaat he will repeat the words 'Peace be upon us and upon all the pious servants".

For Muslims there was a time of glory and progress, a time when there was awe and respect in the hearts regarding Muslims. At present there remains no trace of the glory. In the hearts of others there remains no trace of respect or friendship for Muslims. The disgrace has reached such a peak that even among Muslims there remains no respect for each other. Enmity within Muslims thrives so much so that even the Masaajid, Madaaris, Halaqas and Jamaaats are not free of it. Why? Shaykh Muhammad Saleem Dhorat (Hafizahullah) explains during a speech at the Completion of the Quran graduation today. The answer can be summed up in a single sentence. The Muslims of the past were Haamil-e-Quran (Which is the same as being Saahibe Quran/ Muttaaqeen/ AwliyaAllah/ Kaamil Mumineen) They not only recited the Quran in abundance but the recitation was with concentration and contemplation. They worked at understanding it and then adopted every teaching so much so that they became living images of the Glorious Quran and they led lives full of total piety. They became a means of the propagation of the teachings of the Quran. Today we lack these qualities (even if we attain one of them we ignore the rest) and the awe and respect for Muslims has left the hearts of non-Muslims. We have become weak and disgraced. To regain the past glory and the nusrat (help) of Allah subhaanahu wataala, we need to become attached to the Quran once more by reciting it in abundance, attending Dars e Quran (lessons to understand the Quran) and thereafter adopting Taqwa (live lives of piety according to the teachings of the Quran) and propagating those teachings. This will ensure respect in the world, at the time of death and in the Hereafter.

A Valuable Analogy in understanding Bay`ah Bay`ah can be described as a kind of captivity, with a unique outcome. That outcome is Freedom. Strange as it seems, it is a reality, and it will be the experience. Reflecting over this point, we will come to understand that there certainly is freedom in captivity. We will also come to realize that there is captivity in freedom. As an example: If a student is in the 5th year, and lives in captivity of his studies: strictly attending classes, diligent in completing his homework and sincere in his efforts, that student gets freedom - meaning, he is the successful one because he passes with flying colours. As for the student who lives in freedom: He does not attend classes, he is indifferent to his studies, and makes no effort to complete his homework, then he becomes captive in that same class : meaning, he fails. He does not make the grade, and does not qualify. In a similar vein, the captivity of Bay`ah will free us will be the means and medium of our success, in both worlds. Moreover, Bay`ah serves to remind us of our captivity to Allah Taala and Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam), since our bay`ah has already been established with the Kalima, with La ilaaha illallaah Muhammadur Rasoolullah. We should not fear losing our freedom with Bay`ah, rather, we should trade our freedom for this captivity. And experience true freedom. Moving outside this example, we find the well-known Hadeeth, which conveys this reality, on a different level; in the context of dunya : Rasulullah (Sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) said: The world is a prison for the Believer and a paradise for the disbeliever.

Innaddunyaa khuliqat lakum Verily the world has been created for you If we were to contemplate on this Hadith we would realise that the needs of every moment of our day and night has been created for us by Allah subhaanahu wataala. There is never any shortage in the air which we breath, the water continues to flow , the animals continues to flourish, the sun, moon and starts appear at their times at the command of Allah subhaanahu wataala. Every creation has been created for us and we have been created for the Hereafter. As humans we should not make the world our objective. We should instead focus on attaining the Hereafter as this is the purpose of our creation. Neither should we be deceived by the world nor fall into neglect due to it. With every second this world is moving away from us while the Hereafter is moving towards us. As there are two worlds similarly there are two categories of people, one devoted to acquiring the world whose aim is,

When visiting the sick ('Iyaadah) or consolling the bereaved (Ta'ziyah) do we become the means of comfort and help or do we in fact comfort oursleves by feeling we have done a great deed?
When these visits are not according to the beautiful sunnah of our beloved Rasool sallalaahu 'alayhi wasallam and the correct intentions, we become a tiresome burden on those we should be comforting. According to the teachings of Shaykh Muhammad Saleem Dhorat, "The aim of Ta'ziyah is to strengthen the broken-hearted and give hope at a time when their hope may be waning."
Such words or actions should be used which lessens the grief of the loss suffered by the bereaved or give hope and comfort to the sick who in most cases are in pain and fear of loss of good health. This would be sharing in the grief of others. Shaykh says that his respected father (Rahimahullah) used to advise him that if he could not share in the happiness of others (for some reason) then it was fine however he must always share in the grief of those suffering.
Every teaching of our beloved Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam regarding Mu'aasharat (Beautiful Social Conduct) is about behaving in such a way that no inconvenience / burden or hurt is felt by anyone.

The objective of Seerah conferences is to reflect on the excellences and virtues of our beloved Rasoolullaah sallallaahu alayhi wasallam, to reflect on our shortcomings and make resolutions to mend our ways. The following are just a few quotes from the Seerah conference held at the IDA with various speakers and Shaykh Muhammad Saleem Dhorat (Hafizahullah) Islam & Fashion? Our Deen is not denying comfort, decent homes, a car or good meals however the concept of simplicity has disappeared from our lives and replaced by extravagance in all aspects of life. This has led to laxity in Deen and it has destroyed the very essence of Deen. Fashion and Deen are words which contradict each other yet today fashion dictates our way of life. Even Deeni activities have become an entertainment where Islamic fashion shows are organised. Islam and fashion are as far apart from each other as East and West. These are factors which are driving us further and further away from the Sunnah and simplicity in meeting with people, in our Akhlaaq, in our dress and mode of living have disappeared. (Mawlana Yasin Sahib) Fulfil the Duty of being an Ummati Nabi Ibraaheem, Nabi Moosaa, Nabi Isaa all made dua to be included in the Ummat of our beloved Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu alayhi wasallam. We were fortunate by being included without having to ask so let us fulfil the duty of being an Ummati of Muhammad sallallaahu alayhi wasallam by loving everything about him, his family, the people who were around him, the Quran and even places in history. Let us love his way. Let us adorn our private and public lives with his way and we will be with him in Jannah because we will be with whom we love!

Originally posted by brother syamuj on sunniforum.com In this period of fitnah everyone is trying to criticize each other and it can be witnessed in each and every gathering.Someone criticizes tableeghi people and others criticize Ulema, mashaikh and other deviant groups. If not this, then people talk negatively about their relatives, neighbours and friends. This is a very bad habit that is being developed in our society. If we are really looking for good people without any mistakes in them then I bet that you will not find any person of that kind in the whole world, so everyone should always look the good qualities of others and try to adopt them and should ignore and hide their misdeeds and bad qualities. In addition to remaining quiet, do not start saying things like "We are lesser to everyone" or "We are like the dirt on shoes" etc. Such statements have been counted as the deceit of the Nafs. What the Nafs wants through these statements is to not let people think that it is enjoying the praise that it is getting.
There is more self-struggle in remaining quiet. He who is under the control of his Nafs should adhere strictly to remaining quiet. However, if Allah ta'ala has bestowed His Grace upon someone, such that he has overcome his Nafs like beating overcomes the raucous donkey, then it is up to him to answer or remain quiet.
Hadhrat Thanwi (ra) acted extremely wisely in one such situation. A man said to him "I notice you to be a Qutub". He answered "Yes, sometimes it appears to me as well." If he would have refused, then the Nafs would have been happy that the person would think him to be humble. If he remained quiet, even this could be the deceit of the ego. But the answer Hadhrat gave, it had grave implications for the Nafs. The person would become a rejecter instead of a lover, thinking that this person is attesting to his being a Qutub himself.
