The Blockage Of Sins

posted by ummi taalib on 11th April 2013 - 0 comments
Hazrat Maulana Abdul Hamid Is`haq Saheb (Daamat Barakaatuhum) Sometimes a car engine does not seem to get enough fuel or any fuel. The problem can be due to different reasons: a blocked fuel line or fuel filter or some fault with the fuel pump or carburettor. We know that the fuel lines control and regulate the flow of fuel. If it is clogged or blocked, there is difficulty to start the car since fuel does not make its way to the engine. The engine generally does not restart until the blockage is removed. A blocked fuel line also results in smoke since the fuel overflows. If there is some leak and contact with an ignition source, such as the engine, then this results in smoke and can be dangerous, even causing a fire. In the light of this example, we can draw parallels to the consequences of our indulgence in sins. Sometimes a sin, for which there was no repentance, creates a blockage at the time of death. Due to commission of sins, persistence in sins, and not making sincere Taubah, the spiritual heart becomes clogged and blocked. This creates great difficulty at the time of death. There is no free flow for the Kalima Tayyibah to be recited and for the soul to leave the body with ease.

The Final Countdown

posted by ummi taalib on 7th April 2013 - 0 comments
In a boxing or wrestling match it is not the winner of each round, but the outcome of the final round which determines the winner. A fighter may be winning every round but if his opponent causes him to fall whereby he cannot stand up before the count will make him the loser. The winner is he who wins the final round. Similarly the winners i.e. the successful ones, will be those who succeed in the Hereafter regardless of whether they were regarded as successful or unsuccessful by worldly standards (as success has different definitions according to different people) and success of this world and the Hereafter (On an individual and collective basis) lies in practicing the complete Deen. The Deen also has different definitions. To some fulfilling the five daily Prayer is Deen while to others the Prayers, Hajj, Zakat and Fasting is Deen. Know that Deen comprises of five branches, Aqaid (Correct Beliefs) being the foundation. Thereafter there is: *Ibaadaat (Worship) *Akhlaaq (Noble Character – developing good qualities and eliminating bad ones)

Success lies in Deen & Ilm is Deen

posted by ummi taalib on 18th March 2013 - 0 comments
Success lies in Deen & ‘Ilm is Deen Our individual and collective success and our success of this world and that of the Hereafter lies in the Deen of Allah subhaanahu wata’ala. It is through Deen that a person becomes successful and there is no Deen without ‘Ilm (knowledge). Muhammad ibn Sereen (Rahimahullah) said, “Indeed this ‘Ilm is Deen.” Without ‘Ilm, Deen has no existence as Deen only exists with ‘Ilm. If ‘Ilm is correct, complete, reliable and authentic then Deen is correct, complete, reliable and authentic and if ‘Ilm is incorrect, unreliable, incomplete and unauthentic then the Deen will be incorrect, unreliable, incomplete and unauthentic. Therefore attach yourselves to the God-fearing authentic Scholars with a sound chain leading to our Rasool salallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam. Acquire ‘ilm and practice upon it.

The difference between a sinful zakir and a neglectful zakir

posted by ummi taalib on 15th March 2013 - 1 comment
Hazratwala Mawlana Shah Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Sahib (DB) mentions that Hakeem-ul-Ummat Mujaddid-ul-Millat Hazrat Mawlana Ashraf Ali Thanwi (RA) has mentioned that the difference between a Sinful person that makes the zikr of Allah (a zakir) and the person that is negligent towards the zikr of Allah is that the neglectful sinner is not granted the tawfeeq to make tawbah, whereas when a sin is committed by the sinful zakir, because he previously had noor in his heart, and due to committing a sin, the noor vanishes, he becomes worried, just like when the electricity goes out and a person becomes uneasy. He then calls the powerhouse and requests them to turn on the electricity in his house because he cannot stand the immense heat and the air conditioner and fans are not functioning, and also the contents of his refrigerator will get spoiled. He pleads with the powerhouse to get the electricity back and says that he will be most grateful to them for turning the electricity back on. Similarly, that person who has light in his heart, and the light extinguishes due to sin, his heart becomes dark, and he becomes restless, he will wirelessly contact Allah immediately. He will cry and make tawbah and istighfar. He will say, “O my Lord, please illuminate my heart again, your shameful servant is repenting, beseeching your forgiveness. However, the person that does not remember Allah, upon sinning, is basically piling up darkness upon darkness. His example is like a mechanic that works in a car garage. If a stain were to be put on his clothes, it would not make a difference to him because his clothes are already so stained by grease and oil, or like hitting a cadaver a hundred times would not make a difference to the cadaver since it is already dead and can no longer feel any pain. So the lack of remorse or regret over sin is not a good thing where the person says, “I do not become uncomfortable after sinning, rather I feel just fine.” This is an indication that the heart has died a spiritual death. Shaytan is smacking a person on the head and them not feeling anything is a sign that their heart is spiritually dead, which is a very dangerous condition to be in. - Kaif-e-Ruhani Kaise Hasil Ho? Cure for Pride & Jealousy

posted by ummi taalib on 11th March 2013 - 0 comments
The Right of Shukr Prophet Dawood ‘alayhis salaam turned to Allah subhaanahu wata’ala in deep gratitude for all the blessings bestowed upon him and one can only imagine the shukr (gratitude) of a Prophet. Afterward the thought occurred to him that the Tawfeeq (guidance) to make Shukr upon the blessings was also a blessing so he turned to Allah subhaanhau wata’ala once more in gratitude. Upon completing he realised that the shukr he made upon the thought which occurred to him was also a blessing and so once again he turned to Allah subhaanahu wata’ala in shukr. After this he realised that the cycle could go on forever and so he said, “Oh Allah, how can I thank You, when my thankfulness to You is itself a blessing from among Your gracious favours?” So Allah subhaanahu wata’ala conveyed to him by way of inspiration (wahy), “Now you have thanked Me indeed”. Cure for Pride & Jealousy Our respected Shaykh (Hafizahullah) said that the following du’a, if recited morning and evening will become a means of being resurrected as though the right of Shukr has been fulfilled.

Entertain good thoughts regarding others & Be focused on yourself

posted by ummi taalib on 10th March 2013 - 0 comments
Advices from Shaykh Muhammad Saleem Dhorat (Hafizahullah) at the IDA 20th Youth Conference Entertain good thoughts regarding others “Entertaining good thoughts regarding people is a virtuous deed which will be rewarded while entertaining suspicious thoughts will lead to being questioned in the Hereafter.” In the court of Allah subhaanahu wat’ala the person entertaining suspicious thoughts will be asked to furnish proof. For example a person is seen leaving a pub. He has not been seen drinking alcohol. For having suspicious thoughts regarding this person one will be questioned and asked to furnish proof. Therefore take the easy path and think good of everyone. As for the good thoughts, admiration, compliments and praise of other people, they should not make us forget our reality. Think that it is not me who is being praised, but it is the veil of concealment which Allah subhaanahu wata’ala has placed over me which is being praised.

The Humble & Heartfelt plea of my respected Shaykh

posted by ummi taalib on 6th March 2013 - 0 comments
The deep sincerity and concern of the Mashaikh is quite awe inspiring and humbling. Before Shaykh Muhammad Saleem Dhorat (Hafizahullah) came on as the final speaker at this year’s Annual Youth Conference in Leicester at the weekend the host gave our respected Shaykh a deserving introduction of his personal sacrifices and successful endeavours in the field of khidmat of Deen through the Islamic Da’wah Academy. However as soon as Shaykh began his usual inspiring and heartfelt plea to the gathering of connecting to Allah subhaanahu wata’ala, he said the following words.

“Until death with Imaan and the book of deeds being given in the right hand; until the safe passage across the Seerat (Bridge over the fire of Jahannam) and a safe entry into Jannah we cannot say we have been successful.”

I shall briefly mention the main points of his speech in another post inshaAllah but here I would like to mention our dear and respected Shaykh’s deep concern for every individual of this world. His cry of pain could be heard welling up from the depth of his heart and his anguish felt when he said,
“Wallaahi! There is no other objective (behind the organising of such events by the IDA) but that of connecting individuals to Allah subhaanahu wata’ala and His Rasool sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam.”

He pleaded: “Make a resolution that the time has come to change my life. I will do everything which pleases Allah subhaanahu wata’ala and refrain from everything which displeases Him. Repent now! Do not leave it for a special place or a special night because the best moment and the best place for a Believer is when he sincerely repents. The only path to solve our individual and collective problems is to connect ourselves to Allah subhaanahu wata’ala, His Rasool sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam and the Holy Qur’an.”

Forgiving the creation

posted by ummi taalib on 4th March 2013 - 0 comments
Shaykh Ashraf Ali Thanwi ra says, "I have been making du’a for a considerable period of time and have now refreshed it that 'O Allah! Because of me, do not punish any of your creation for I have forgiven from my heart anyone who has harmed me in the past or will harm me in the future.' So, the creation of Allah should not fear regarding me. In fact, if there is a need then I grant them full permission to tell me anything they desire. If I do not forgive others, and they are punished then what did I gain?" Hadrat Khawaja Sahib remarked: “You will receive that persons good deeds (in the hereafter).” In reply Hadrat said that what would such formal good deeds do for me? If Allah accepts this action of mine (forgiving others) then through it I will receive limitless good Insha’Allah. Can a person be successful if Allah takes a formal account? Doesn’t He (Allah) have the right to grant reward without the recipient being worthy? Is there a shortage of reward by Him? Why don’t you think in this manner? The reason I forgive is that if this action of mine is accepted, then I have hope in Haqq Ta’ala that He will forgive me for those rights which are on me (which I have not fulfilled).

Every Second which passes by is a Second never to be Returned

posted by ummi taalib on 27th February 2013 - 1 comment
The clock ticking away every second in reality is our life passing by and every second which has passed can never return. Say a person was given a large amount of money to invest for a period of time. Now if the person invests wisely in profitable ventures he will be able to show a profit while if he invests unwisely he will have nothing to show but loss. If the person deposits the money in his bank account and leaves it there he will be able to return the money without a profit or loss. With time however, the passing of seconds can never return. Every second is therefore precious and not to be wasted. If one was to ask the youth who have had a week’s holiday, how much time was spent beneficially and how much in futility it will be found that most of the week had been spent in futility. The following three advices are found to be very beneficial regarding spending time constructively. Making a timetable Taking stock (Muhaasabbah) - look back at how time was spent. A business man does not continue his business for years on end without taking stock at end of year. If there has been a loss he will try to work out a plan for a bettere return in the next year and if there has been a profit he will make plans of increasing his profit.

Youre Being Watched 24/7

posted by ummi taalib on 12th January 2013 - 0 comments
“We need this at every moment, every silence, and every look. It is the subject of being conscious of Allah, the Majestic and most high. Allah says: “he knows of that which deceive you with the eyes and all that the hearts conceal. Indeed noting is hidden from Allah whether in the heavens or earth”. Nothing is hidden from Allah, the great! He is the lord of this universe. He is the true deity in this universe. Nothing on earth and heaven is unknown to Him. The scholars have mentioned: what is the meaning of consciousness? It is the knowledge of the heart of the nearness of the lord. By Allah, it is a huge problem that one feels or fears the watch of the creation more than the watch of the great and Almighty creator. If cameras are installed in the market places, streets and gatherings and someone tells you “if you look at a woman, we will deduct from your salary and you will be punished”. Subhan’Allah! You will find people will think a thousand times before they look anywhere! They will lower their gaze. Why? Because there is a camera filming his/her every move. If they commit any wrong, their salary will be deducted. He will think a thousand times due to those cameras. But does he not think a thousand times that Allah is watching me? It is so sad to see people fear from their children, they will not do anything that is forbidden in front of the little children, they fear the reaction of the little children. But don’t they fear Allah the most high, the great? If this proves anything, it proves weakness of Iman. For this I say, we are in dire need to remember Allah see’s everything at all times. Before you do anything, before you speak anything, before you look and before you make any decision- remember Allah the most high the great see’s you and is recording everything you do. Bishr al Hafi says “if people reflect on the greatness of Allah, they will not disobey Him.
