A True Lover

posted by ummi taalib on 10th November 2019 - 0 comments
True love entails that remembrance of the Beloved be not restricted to special gatherings only

"A true lover is far too restless to wait for such occasions"

The Lover submits & obeys the Beloved

posted by ummi taalib on 31st July 2019 - 0 comments
In a famous poem, Imam Shafi رحمه الله says: You express the love of Allāh And yet You disobey Him This is very strange indeed If your love for Allāh was true then you would have obeyed him For indeed the one who loves, obeys the beloved ~~~**~~~

Forgiving Others

And that it is He who makes laugh and weep [53:43]
[center]Jannah is prepared for those who control their anger and forgive others. Forgiving others is a way to diffuse anger and forgiving others become easy when you relalise this, that when someone hurts you and makes you cry, it was actually Allah ta’ala Who wanted it so. (Aalimah S Ahmed)

The Sound Intellect

posted by ummi taalib on 11th October 2014 - 0 comments

Abu 'Umar az-Zajaajee rahimahullah, who was from among the companions of al-Junaid rahimahullah, Sufyaan ath-Thauree rahimahullah and others, said:

"In the days of ignorance, the people used to follow whatever their intellects and temperaments considered good. The Prophet sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam came and directed them towards the Sharee'ah and emulation. A sound intellect is therefore one which considers good whatever the Sharee'ah considers good, and abhors whatever the Sharee'ah abhors.[The Sunnah way of the Sufis]"

Be dust before thou art turned into dust

A company of vagabonds met a dervish, spoke insulting words to him, struck him and otherwise molested him; whereon he complained to his superior and explained the case. The pir replied: 'My son, the patched frock of dervishes is the garment of resignation and who, wearing it, cannot bear injuries is a pretender not entitled to the frock.' A large river will not become turbid from stones. The Arif who feels aggrieved is shallow water yet. If he injures thee, bear it Because pardon will purify thee from sin.

Quatable Quotes of the Pious

Quotes from the speech of Shaykh Qamaruz Zamaan Ilaahaabaadi Khalifah of Shaykh Shah Wasiullah Sahib “Do you think you will attain Sukoon (Peace/tranquillity) while committing sins? Only through the remembrance of Allah ta’ala (i.e. following all His commands and refraining from all disobedience) do hearts find peace!” “If Tabiyat (inclination) is against the Sharee’at (Laws of Allah ta’ala) then make the Sharee’at Maghloob over (Override) Tabiyat.” “Imaan is the greatest wealth bestowed by Allah ta’ala. Work towards its reaching perfection and make Du’a to remain steadfast upon it. If Imaan is not Kaamil (Perfect) then good deeds equal to a mountain will be of no avail.”

Patience and Perseverance

When you are hurt by the people who share blood relations with you, recall Yusuf [alayhis salaam] who was also betrayed by his brothers. When you find your parents opposing you (in deen) recall Ibraheem [alayhis salaam] who was made to jump into a blazing fire by his father. When you are mocked and abused by your own relatives just because you adopted deen over duniya, recall Rasul Allah [sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam] who faced the same. When you are stuck into some problem and find no way out recall Yunus [alayhis salaam] who was stuck inside the belly of a whale. When you fall ill and your whole body cries with pain, recall Ayoob [alayhi salaam] who was more ill than you.

Invaluable, Inspiring Advices

Fear the Eyes Looking at the sins of Others We look at people’s sins. We are not looking at the mercy of our Lord. A tear or two wipes out their sins, does looking at his/her sins wipe out ours? Change to the Clothes of Taqwa A one or two year old child’s foul smelling and dirty nappy is of no consequence to the mother who cleans and washes the child, perfumes him with baby powder and puts on clean clothes. Only then will she let the child go with a loving hug and a kiss. Even greater is the love of the Lord for His errant slave who becomes filthy with the repugnant smell of sin, who turns with regret to that Lord Who alone can forgive sins. He will remove the bad odour of the clothes of Ma’siyyat (Sins) and adorn the slave with the fragrant clothes of Taqwaa (Piety)! Lost & Found Imagine the distress of the parents who have lost their two year old baby! How they must search every corner, every street and how they must grieve when exhausted, they realise the child is lost! And then.....imagine the joy and happiness when their beloved child walks into the room! Well, Allah subhaanahu wat’ala’s happiness is greater when a slave returns to Him in repentance! Know & Value

He knows not the value of comfort who has not felt pain Ask him who is racked in pain, awaiting the morning with hope of relief He knows not the value of water who dwells upon the banks of the river Ask him who is parched with thirst in the heat of the desert sun He knows not the value of light who can see the sun, the moon and the stars Ask him who is stumbling around in darkness without sight He knows not the value of a full stomach whose eats and has more for later
