BECOME OF THE MUHSINEEN From Shaykh Muhammad Saleem Dhorats tafseer of Sura Saaffaat. In this Surah Allah Taaalaa declares His tawheed, then gives many examples of various Prophets and how their followers were saved and how the disbelievers perished. Allah Taaalaa says in this Surah, Thus do We reward the Muhsineen Shaykh explains; if you desire good in this world and in the Hereafter, if you desire protection from evil in this world and in the Hereafter, if you desire acceptance in this world and in the Hereafter, then become of the Muhsineen, (those who do good deeds). Work hard, adopt taqwa and become deserving of Sifate Ehsaan.

Shaykh Ashraf Ali Thaanwi (R) A Simple Step for Islaah appeared in "Tarbiyatus Saalikeen" published by Mufti Zubair Dudha - Islamic Tarbiyah Academy Leave name and fame. I have a method that will not decrease your fame nor will your income decrease. Whatever you are earning, continue to earn it. Whichever condition you are in, remain in that condition. I am not giving permission for sin, but I am giving a sincere way for repentance. So that, if there is no qualified islaah (reformation), fine, but at least it will be better than pitfalls. Make some improvement at least. If you do not take medicine, at least save from harmful foods. If youre a weak patient, then a sympathetic doctor can accommodate you to some degree. So that you can put away the medicine for awhile and temporarily tell you such a cure from which the disease will not increase. This method will have to be used to for change in your current condition. So, for the time being, I will also relate such a spiritual cure. There will not be any loss in your business, your income will not decrease, and there will be no difference in your dignity and prestige. Although you wont become healthy from this cure, but the disease will also not increase. Then, inshaAllah, at some point or another, your condition will resolve itself and you will regain complete health inshaAllah. I can relate such a cure in which there is definitely no harm to your worldly life, while there will be a definite improvement in your Deen inshaAllah. Although it will not be the highest quality of improvement, but it is better than nothing.

from the teachings of our respected Shaykh Muhammad Saleem Dhorat (Hafizahullah)
The purpose of our very creation is so that we worship Allah subhaanahu wataalaa and in order to do this we firstly have to recognise Him, attest to His Oneness and thereafter worship Him in the manner of a true slave. A slave will never do anything against his masters wishes and to this end he, in fact annihilates his own wishes. If Allah subhaanahu wataalaa created us to be His slaves then assuredly we have the capabilities of being slaves i.e. one does not order a blind person to see something. Therefore as slaves of Allah subhannahu wataalaa we should annihilate our wishes and follow His commands. This is abdiyyat, and to be a slave of Allah subhaanahu wataalaa is the highest stage for a human.
To achieve this stage one first needs to have recognition of Allah subhaanahu wataalaa. It is one thing to have knowledge and quite another to have recognition (Marifat). One knows Allah is powerful but how powerful? If one had marifat one would fear Him and refrain from His disobedience. Knowing that He is the One Who bestows upon us countless blessings, do we have knowledge of just how much we are indebted to Him? If we did recognise this fact we would have intense love for Him. However we are blinded and the cause for our blindness is a veil being present the veil of sins.
When we go to a garden we see the beautiful colours and smell the fragrances of the flowers however we do not recognise the Creator of those colours and fragrances due to the veil of sin being present. Only with much effort and striving for rectification (islah) will those veils be removed leading to the marifat of Allah subhaanahu wataalaa and then the colours and fragrances will fade and the Creator will become apparent.
The Prophets sallallaahu alayhi wasallam status is higher than any other creation. So much so that during the Meraaj even Jibrail could not venture beyond a certain point. After the name of Allah subhaanhu wataalaa, during the call for Salaat and the Iqaamah, the name of His beloved Nabi sallallaahu alayhi wasallam follows. In fact Salaat begins with the name of Allah and ends with salutations sent upon His Nabi sallallaahu alayhi wasallam. Even in the grave after being questioned about Allah each person is asked about Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu alayhi wasallam. Despite this great status, he was a slave of Allah and he behaved like a slave.

According to Dr Abdul Hayy Aarifi, out of the many deeds to do with the inward state which should be acquired under the supervision of a qualified Shaykh, four of them form the basis of Tasawwuf and they are the very moving spirit and foundation of the Faith as a whole. They are easy to practice under all conditions whether on the go or in relaxation and very effective if one acquires constancy in them. Many evil characteristics will automatically become weakened and many good traits will be strengthened. الشُّكْر Gratitude From the moment you wake up look around and acknowledge every blessing, whether worldly or religious and express gratitude and make a resolution of using that blessing in the correct way. Even in adversity, cast a glance at the blessings which surround you despite being undeserving. Gratitude generates love for Allah and relationship with Him is strengthened اَللّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ Allaahumma lakal hamdu walakash shukr All praise belongs to Allah. O Allah, for You is all praise and for You, all gratitude **********

SHAYKH ASHRAF ALI THAANWI ra relates that once a person sat next to me to fan me (with a hand held fan presumably). With such love he continued his service however I was not happy as he was not doing it properly. The fan kept coming so close to my face that I feared it would hit my face any time. My fear soon became a reality and the fan did indeed hit my face, and irritated, I told him to stop! The poor fellow stopped and sat down.
This incident brought a thought to my mind; I was not pleased with the mans service to me as he was fanning me incorrectly and causing me discomfort. Yet he must have been so happy thinking he was rendering me a service and in so doing was pleasing me whereas in reality he was causing me to become irritable. Similarly we become so pleased when we perform any good deeds. We are so certain that Allah subhaanahu wataaalaa must be very pleased with us. On reflection we will find that what is the reality of our worship??? We cannot even perform our salaat in the correct manner and with presence of heart and mind, yet we are so proud of it believing that we are making Allah subhaanahu wataaalaa happy!
This was the state of our pious predecessors
what about us?
