Qais ibn Aamir was a person with a name. However his love for Layla made him appear as a mad man and he became known as Majnoon a mad man. Our love for Allah subhaanahu wataaalaa should also be such.

Until we sit in the company of the Mashaaikh do we have yearning to become the lovers of Allah subhaanahu wataaalaa? Once we reach this stage then the question arises as to how to attain it. We do not have the answer but yearning fills the heart and dua is made. Before this we are not even aware that dua should be made asking Allah subhaanahu wataaalaa to make us His lovers.

If the heart is full of love for Allah subhaanahu wataaalaa then following the Shareeat will become easy. If there is amal (practice) on the Shareeat one will become the beloved of Allah subhaanahu wataaalaa. When there is no love for Allah subhaanahu wataaalaa and the Prophet sallallaahu alayhi wasallam then practicing on the Shareeat becomes difficult.

Purity of heart is necessary for love for Allah subhaanahu wataaalaa to enter. Once love enters the heart every act of the Shareeat becomes easy and just by looking at such a person others wish to become like them.

Death will not be fearful if there is love for Allah subhaanahu wataaalaa. When ones beloved is in a far off place and someone gives that person a ticket to travel to this place the very next day he will not ask for more time and delay his journey. He will be eager to meet his beloved.

A jewellery case will only be valuable if there is jewellery within, otherwise it will be just a case. Similarly the heart will only be valuable if there is love for Allah subhaanahu wataalaa within otherwise it is just a lump of flesh.
