Let non-Muslims observe the character of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad

1st October 2012
Shaykh Muhammad Saleem Dhorat’s invigorating and stimulating words of advice on the current situation speaking at The Da’wah Conference – held by At-Taqwa Academy (London 30th September 2012). The following is a short but very important summery of the talk.

“Warafa’naa laka dhikrak”
“And We have elevated your mention” Qur’an 94:4

Islam is the same, with the same honour as before. The Glorious Qur’an too remains unchanged and the honour of our beloved Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam also remains unchanged. Our respected Shaykh (Hafizahullah), after mentioning many great points regarding the extremly high status of our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam, explains further.

An ‘Aalim remains an ‘Aalim depite denial from anyone. Even if the whole world was to deny it, it would not change the fact that he is an ‘Aalim. Similarly our Prophet Muhammad’s sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam elevated status which Allah subhaanahu wata’ala has mentioned in the Glorious Qur’an will remain the same despite insults in the form of a film on you-tube or disparaging words! These insults do not change anything. Muslims everywhere continue to love him and salutations continue being sent to him.

What has changed is our connection to our Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam and this is what we need to be concerned about. Noteworthy is that despite the non-Muslims of Makkah’s denial to accept him as the true Prophet of Allah, after observing him, they had to bear testimony to his exceptional character. Even today’s non-Muslim biographers cannot deny his outstanding and exceptional character.

Note the words, “after observing”. Today we’re not giving non-Muslims the chance to “observe” these high morals, exceptional conduct or his beautiful teachings because we ourselves are unaware. We need to attach ourselves to his Sunnah and without any inferiority complex, mention him to non-Muslims.

We should make a firm resolution to become attached to the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam. By being attached to him we become the beloved of Allah subhaanahu wata’ala and thereafter to Jibrail and then to the people as is mentioned in a Hadith. We should refrain from being weak and from despairing in these trying times. Allah subhaanahu wata’ala will continue His favour upon him until he (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) becomes happy.

The following are points mentioned by our respected Shaykh (hafizahullah).
