For physical illnesses like cancer we insist the doctor sends us for an x-ray yet we have no concern for the many spiritual illnesses which lie within our hearts.

Shaykh Muhammad Saleem Dhorat (Hafizahullah) said he was not asking that people make immediate contact with a qualified Shaykh or leave to spend time in jamaa’at. To begin with all that is required is for one to spend time on reflecting at the spiritual illnesses like pride, vanity, jealousy etc. which lie within one’s self with concern. In other words take an x-ray of yourself and thereafter make du’a for the annihilation of all the evils which lie within. This will lead to Allah subhaanahu wata’ala opening doors through which this will become a reality.

All our effort is on making the external worship while no effort is made towards the inner self. So many of us have reached the age of forty, fifty and more yet we do not know our own selves. May Allah subhaanhau wata’ala bless us with the concern of the Hereafter and grant us the Tawfeeq to make effort
