Shaykh Yusuf Qaradawi (HA) on Niqab and "Interaction" of men and women

posted by Muadh_Khan on 26th May 2013 - 2 comments

Disclaimer:  The blogger doesn’t necessarily agree  with all the views of Shaykh Yusuf Qaradawi (HA) merely informing readers of his position which is different to what is being claimed and most importantly, what is being practised in his name!

Shaykh (HA) is possibly one of the most liberal Islamic Scholars of our time and we request the readers to consult their local Scholars for further information, we certainly don’t endorse the views and Fatwaas of Shaykh Yusuf Qaradawi (HA) although we honour and respect him as an Islamic Scholar as it is his right and stature.

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Over the past few days many of our brothers and sisters have mentioned our honourable and respected Shaykh Yusuf Qaradawi (HA) and claimed that he backs some sort of free for all free-mixing between men and women. Although we disagree with certain aspects of noble Shaykh Yusuf Qaradawi (HA)’s it is important to actually read what he says on some of these issues. Here is noble Shaykh (HA)’s in his own words:

Is Niqab a Pre-Islamic cultural practise with no basis?

Rejected “Modernism”: Women speakers addressing mixed gatherings

Yasmin Mogahed (Mujahid) received her B.S. Degree in Psychology and her Masters in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After completing her graduate work, she taught Islamic Studies and worked as a writing instructor for Cardinal Stritch University, and a staff columnist for the Islam section of InFocus News.

She gives lectures on various topics and to a mixed audience very clearly and openly in USA as can be seen in the video above. When she tried to do so in UK she was refuted by Shaykh Mohammad Daniels (HA) here:

Making first impressions by the length of the Beard!

posted by Muadh_Khan on 1st May 2013 - 0 comments

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

The great Scholar Shaykh (Allamah) Muhammad Zahid ibn Hasan al-Kawthari (RA) [1879-1951] was the last Shaykhul-Islam of the Islamic Ummah as this was a honourific title bestowed and used within the Islamic empire.

Shaykh (RA) wasn't a political appointment but was a Scholar par excellence of both the Maturidi Aqeedah and Hanafi Fiqh.

Before reading further click to look at his picture.

Many will look at his picture and automatically question as to why he has such a short Beard when he was not only a Muqallid of Hanafi Madhab but the greatest Mufti of the Madhab on earth? And I have repeatedly seen this question online and others simply try to dodge the issue by offering two arguments:

The Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi Nationlistic Tripe!

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh, Let’s cut to the chase here! Most of us weren’t even born when the Indian subcontinent was carved up into India/Pakistan and later into Bangladesh. In addition, despite all the discussions, analysis and insight (of the wise men and women) the 3 geographical entities are here to stay.

Awliya Allah (SWT) & Quantum Physics

posted by Muadh_Khan on 9th April 2013 - 1 comment

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Baraktuh,

Shaykh (Maulana) Qasim Nanotwi (RA) & Shaykh (Maulana) Ahmed Raza Khan Barelwee (RA) both lived in the time of Newtonian Physics i.e. before Einstein came and revolutionised our understanding of the universe with Quantum Physics and especially with his theory of relativity. It is critical to understand their era before we can understand what I am about to discuss.

The understanding of their time was that there was a direct relationship between cause and effect and universe was one-dimensional.

When Shaykh (Maulana) Qasim Nanotwi (RA) wrote Tahdhir al-Nas the subject matter was at least 75 years ahead of its time and it speaks volumes about the Eemaan of the man who evaluated the matter on the strength of the evidence (Hadeeth) and put aside the science of his time although we know that Shaykh (Maulana) Qasim Nanotwi (RA) knew about the scientific theories of his time and was particularly familiar with Mathematics as evident in his various biographies.

The works of later Deobandi Ulamah like Shaykh (Maulana) Ashraf Ali Thanwi (RA) in Bawadirun-Nawadir and even later ones like Shaykh (Mufti) Rasheed Ahmed Ludhyanwi (RA) in Ahsanul-Fatawa show that they had more than adequate knowledge of sciences.

Power of Allah (SWT) and your problems!

posted by Muadh_Khan on 13th March 2013 - 1 comment

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Repeatedly in the Qur’aan & Sunnah we are reminded to place our reliance (Tawakkul) exclusively on Allah (SWT) and Allah (SWT) will suffice for all our needs.

Allah (SWT) saved Sayyidina Ibraheem (AS) from the fire of Namrod.

Allah (SWT) saved Sayyidina Musa (AS) from the army of Fir’uan and the waves of the sea.

Allah (SWT) saved Sayyidina Rasul-ullah (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) and Khalifatur-Rasool Sayyidina Abu-Bakr As-Sideeq (RA) from the ferocious men of Quryash who were chasing them with nothing but a spider-web and some pigeon eggs!

Internet Addiction: Donate your 3rd Kidney!!!

posted by Muadh_Khan on 11th March 2013 - 2 comments

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

We are increasingly being approached by practising Muslims brothers and sisters who are concerned by their Internet usage so here are some thoughts...

Many of our practising brothers and sisters have only a “traditional” understanding of addiction which is to say that they associate addiction with drugs, alcohol, smoking or even when they associate addiction with the Internet its generally thought  to be “P ornogrpahy addiction” etc.

The sad reality is that many practising brothers and sisters could be addicted to Internet in continually surfing:

Does Europe have a problem with Islam/Muslims?

posted by Muadh_Khan on 6th March 2013 - 0 comments

Asslamo Allaikum,

The doors to Iberian Peninsula (roughly modern day spain) were opened by the Galant 17 year old Muslim General Tariq Ibn Ziyad (RA) between 711-718. Around the 29th of April 711 the army of General Tariq Ibn Ziyad (RA) landed near a mountain and against heavy odds famously ordered all the boats to be burnt and to fight for the sake of Allah (SWT) with the ocean on their back and enemy in the front.

The mountain where the army of General Tariq Ibn Ziyad (RA) drew the line in the sand and irrigated the soil of Europe with their blood of Shahadah to this day is called Jabal At-Tariq (Mountain of Tariq, latinised by later Europeans to be Gibraltar)

Allah (SWT) opened the doors of Europe to Islam and General Tariq Ibn Ziyad (RA) after heavy sacrifices entered Iberian Peninsula (roughly modern day spain) and Europe was introduced to the magnificient Islamic civilisation of science and culture of Al-Andalus.

Al-Andalus gave not only Islam but the whole modern world its sciences, technology, culture and civilisation when Europe was immersed in the Dark Ages of ignorance, superstition, ignorance, superstition, sorcery and back magic and if I start listing the contributions of Muslims of Al-Andalus we will be here forever but a significant fact which needs to be highlighted is that even the Jews count for their time under Islamic as the Golden Age of Jewish culture
