Darul-uloom Bury (UK) and Christmas Cards

posted by Muadh_Khan on 23rd January 2014 - 36 comments

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

The issue of congratulating Non-Muslim on their holidays has been discussed many times on various forums. I have tried to convey to some Brothers that I have heard of Deobandi Ulamah congratulating Hindus on Deewali (perhaps they deem it a social rather than religious?) which I can’t comment on.

Darul-uloom Bury is also in the habit of sending Christmas Cards to their neighbours for a long time and this matter was confirmed by Hazrat Shaykhul-Hadeeth (Maulana) Yusuf Motala Saheb (HA) in his Bayan in 2011.

If Hazrat (HA) or Darul-uloom Bury have changed this practise since 2011, please comment and let me know so correction can be made to this blog.

This is opinion of a group of Ulamah so people have the right to disagree but nobody has the right to disrespect or disparage.

Ulamah and their Practises: Time Management and Sleep

posted by Muadh_Khan on 7th January 2014 - 3 comments

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Last year someone asked me to review his website. The first problem I found was that he had put his mobile (cell) phone on the website. While sitting at his house (over some nice food) I discussed why this isn’t such a good idea because people will ring or text or WhatsApp at odd hours of the day.

Instead he should rely on email because email allows him to Schedule and manage his time. He did also admit that having the phone and people messaging all the time puts him under compulsion to answer it immediately because he thought that it was the way of our Akabir to respond adequately and quickly to the needs of people.

I fully agree that our Akabir responded to people and their needs but I disagree on having mobile numbers and WhatsApp.

Our Akabir were able to accomplish this through a system of time management and not through random picking up tasks and accomplishing them. They had a time fixed for posts and a fixed time for personal meetings and either deferred meetings outside of these hours or dealt with them as an emergency which couldn’t be deferred.

Dr Malih Ahmed Siddiqui (Abu_Tamim)

posted by Muadh_Khan on 4th January 2014 - 5 comments

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatulahi Wa Barakatuh,

I read the news of the passing away of our dear respected and beloved Dr Malih Ahmed Siddiqui (aka Abu_Tamim from Sunniforum) this afternoon and I am lost for words. As a believer it is my Eemaan that death can come anytime and to anyone unannounced and without warning but this is truly unexpected.

I didn’t know Dr Saheb (RA) personally and I had to enquire about his first name but I knew him through his writings and his exchange of emails like many people around the world.

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

May Allah (SWT) forgive his sins, raise his status in Firdausal-A'ala (Ameen). May Allah (SWT) grant Sab'r and perseverance  to his family, to all those who knew him and are grieved by his passing away and in particular to his wife and 3 young children, Tamim (4), Shamim (3) and Hani (9 months) (Ameen).

Sunniforum update: 11NOV2013

posted by Muadh_Khan on 11th November 2013 - 5 comments

Asslamo Allaikum All,

Based on some personal digging around and speaking to someone who knows someone who knows someone who knows someone. Neither them nor I (obviously) are directly connecting with the Sunniforum Shura or decision making process.

There are some logistics and technical issues which prevent a definitive timeframe to be given by the SF Shura. My suggestion for everyone is to work with Maulana Yasin (Ameer Muftisays) who is also Deobandi Scholar and IT specialist.

Muftisays.com has a new hidden forum which is available for Ex-SF addicts to carry on with life and discuss SF issues OR use the forum as-is without using the corner (hidden) SF section.

You must register to become part of the Ex-SF gang. My mushwara to all ex-SF posters who want to post and work with Ulamah and Mashaykh is to join Muftisays (temporarily) instead of drifting aimlessly on the Internet and feel free to go back when SF is back up and running. Mashaykh like Dr76 and Shaykh Fususulhikam are already here and feel free to seek advice from SF Ulamah like Shaykh (Mufti) Abu Hajira Saheb (HA) etc before joining.

Tassawuff and Pink Islah

posted by Muadh_Khan on 4th November 2013 - 8 comments

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

We were in the company of a Shaykh of Tassawuff and he was called out. As he exited, all the Mureeds stood up. He entered and the Mureeds stood up. He was called out again and the Mureeds stood up. As he entered for the second time the Mureeds stood up.

This annoyed the Shaykh to no end and he said, “What is wrong with you people? Do you have no regard for the Sunnah of Sayyidina Rasul-ullah (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam)? He (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) forbade people to stand up like some people stand in courts of the kings of this world. When I die what will you do? Bury me and go around my grave every 40 days?”

He was so visibly annoyed that he cancelled the Majlis (and sat silently) and everyone had to apologize to him to calm him down.

In our times we are witnessing a phenomenon called “Shaykh worship” but is it the Shaykh or the Mureeds who have started this dark, horrible, despicable Bid’ah in the name of their Shaykh?

Saudi Government: Deobandees need to wake up!

posted by Muadh_Khan on 26th October 2013 - 10 comments

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Rahmatullahi,

Since 1926, the sacred land of the believers is being run by a filthy band of robbers and bandits. Allah (SWT) has blessed these lands with oil and other natural resources but the blessings of Allah (SWT) are being wasted on criminal and forbidden activities like drinking, gambling, and womanizing. The centres of Haraam in the west has been flowing with money from these robbers and bandits. They usurp the wealth of the Ummah and waste it at the feet of call girls in western cities. The proliferation of expensive hotels in Makkah and Madina has resulted in sky rocketing of Hajj and Umrah costs and the Government employees treat Hajees like cattle at airports and immigration checkpoints.

Turn on your TV in Makkah and every filth imaginable is available right in your hotel room, across the Haram Shareef. Look at your hotel menu and you will meat from around the world with no care and attention to the laws of Shariah. Walk outside your hotel and you find Victoria’s secret and other filthy lingerie. The palaces of the kings, expensive flats and stupid clocks (imitating cities of the west) tower the minarets of the sacred house of Allah (SWT). Old men, women and those of feeble health of the Ummah of Sayyidina Rasul-ullah (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam) get beat up by security personnel while making Tawaf around the house of Allah (SWT).

But the greatest crime of the filthy band of robbers and bandits ruling the sacred lands of the believers (and their poodle Scholars for Dollars) is to sabotage efforts for establishing the Deen of Allah (SWT). Whether its Tableeghi Jamaat, Jihad, Jamia Hafasa or Al-Ikhwanul-Muslimeen no one is free from the “Fatwa passing” of these “rented donkeys” masquerading as Islamic Scholars.

Alhumdolillah, that the filth being propagated from the members of Haram towards President (Hafidh) Morsi and Al-Ikhwanul-Muslimeen has woken up the Scholars from around the world in condemnation of this filthy regime and its actions.

Mufti Taqi Usmani (HA) on Pakistan Government!

posted by Muadh_Khan on 20th October 2013 - 2 comments

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Shaykh (Mufti) Taqi Usmani (HA) along with a number of Ulamah was contacted by Lieutenant General Shahid Aziz, a Pakistani military author, intelligence writer, and retired three-star ranking general officer of the Pakistan Army and asked a series of questions.

The background of the question was that for the past 13 years Americans have forcibly occupied Afghanistan. The Pakistani Government due to various threats including economic sanctions and coercion is supporting the American hegemony and due to the involvement of Pakistani Government thousands of innocent Afghan Muslims (women and children) have been massacred so what is the legal injunction for Pakistani Government?

A summary of the responses from Shaykh (Mufti) Taqi Usmani (HA) are as follows:

Naqshbandi-Mujaddidi Adhkar without Shaykh or Bayah?

posted by Muadh_Khan on 23rd September 2013 - 1 comment

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

I summarised my discussions with Shaykh (Mufti) Kamaluddin Ahmed (HA) from March 2011 in a thread aimed at dispelling myths and removing misunderstandings regarding Tassawuff. Our dear (Dr76 from SF) asked me to seek further clarification from dear respected Mufti Saheb (HA) on the advice of being able to carry out the Adhkaar of Naqshbandi-Mujaddidi Silsila without Shaykh or Ba’yah. I sent the query via email and then also asked in person in Masjid Zakariyya (Bolton) on the 21st of September 2013.

Mufti Saheb (HA) replied (summarised):

I received your query and I was thinking about producing some common questions about Tassawuff on a new website so your question seemed ideal to place it on the site and then answer in some detail. In summary we have two kinds of Adhkaar:

Taking responsibility

posted by Muadh_Khan on 4th September 2013 - 0 comments

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

There are many things wrong with the Muslims and the local community today but one of the most colossal void (in my opinion) is the absence of Muslim fathers. The absence is either physical where Sisters are bringing up children on their own or logical where the father (physically) exists but neither takes responsibility, nor sets a good example.

Our children are being brought up in a vacuum of a male role models and the impact on our generations (particularly in the west) is going to be huge!

A child learns by example and not be taking notes on their iPad. When a child sees that his father is an honest man, he makes mistakes but he tries he learns to mimic this behaviour for the rest of his life.

No one is free from mistakes and fathers commit plenty of them. But examples of behaviour of a father stick like glue to the memory of children and become their guide for the rest of their lives.

The Morality of Democracy!

posted by Muadh_Khan on 1st September 2013 - 0 comments

Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Today we will talk about two (fictitious) neighbouring countries of Tipistan and Topistan with the great Himalayan mountain range separating the two. They were friendly neighbours and open to Tourism and trade with nearly the same population of around 10 million.

Both were blessed with fertile land and the flowing waters of melting snow from the Himalayas meant that they was plenty of plants and natural vegetation which absolved them of the need to import anything for food.

Until one year, there was very high snow continuously for 4 months on the peaks of Himalayas on the Tipistan side. When summer arrived the heavy snow melted and the floods caused absolute and utter devastation to the lives of 6 million people. Their crops were destroyed, warehouses damaged and infrastructure destroyed. They turned to their neighbour Topistan for help.

There was only one problem.
