Salaah; a gift from the heavens(Part 1)

Alhamdulillah, how fortunate are we to have been blessed with Islam as our religion, Allah as our lord, and the most purest of beings Muhammad Mustafa (Sallallahu 'Alayhi Wasallam) as our prophet. "A chain is no stronger than its weakest link and the link between Allah and a muslim is Salaah. Don't let this break, strengthen the connection by worshipping him.-" Allah has made it incumbent upon us to perform salaah 5 times a day and proof of this can be found in numerous verses of the Qur'an. Amongst them, in Surah israa' Verse 78 Allah says: "أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِدُلُوكِ الشَّمْسِ إِلَىٰ غَسَقِ اللَّيْلِ وَقُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ ۖ إِنَّ قُرْآنَ الْفَجْرِ كَانَ مَشْهُودًا" [Establish regular prayers-at the suns decline till the darkness of the night, and the morning prayer and reading: for the prayer and reading in the morning carry their

Trust in Allah

When we're at our lowest, everything becomes impossible. Our problems seem like a mountain to climb, a better life seems too good to be true and our lives feel empty, with no sense of direction and no goal in sight. At times like these, we face two options. We can either continue to allow the bad days to affect our state of mind, or we can learn how to deal with the tests and trials of life. The fact is, life isn't about having the perfect family, the perfect house, or having the perfect problem free life. Life is about living through the good and bad, learning valuable lessons, experiencing new things, advancing in our abilities, maturing in our state of mind and understanding that imperfection is in actual fact perfection in itself. The first thing we need to do is accept that all good and bad is from Allah. If someone passes away, that's from Allah. If you lose someone close to you, that's from Allah. If you experience difficulty in all its shapes and forms, then remember, it is all from Allah. If we had the perfect life, would we actually be happy? By losing something or someone, we learn to value and make the most of what we have. By experiencing trials and tribulations we learn about ourselves. Our strengths, our weaknesses, our habits and our character. Imperfection is what makes us human and this is why we are the best of creation.

You're never truly alone.

Written by TalibatunNoor Life throws all sorts at us. From heart ache, to regret, pain and difficulty. Throughout these times we sometimes feel we’re alone. I know I did. When you’ve fallen so deep that you can’t stand up, you don’t have the strength and you can’t ask for help. Your own world stops whilst life continues around you. People talking, smiling, socialising, and enjoying what life presents to them each day, taking things in their stride and dealing with each day as it comes. All you can do is watch in despair wishing you could do the same. We reach points where we feel no one understands. At times, it’s true. With some people, unless they’ve experienced what you’re going through they can’t comprehend the issue. With others however, we lose ourselves to a point where we no longer trust ourselves never mind trusting other people. The one thing I’ve learnt? It’s at the most loneliest time like this, that we’re actually not alone. Waiting for us is a being who has always been there and always will be. A being who knows exactly what we feel, how we feel, and that is Allah. I’m not saying our problems will vanish in to thin air, I’m not saying everything will suddenly be ok, what I am saying is talking to Allah will make the load lighter and encourage our first step to recovery.

Happy? Not quite...

posted by TalibatunNoor on 28th December 2014 - 1 comment
Written by: TalibatunNoor Happiness; The one thing the world is searching and yearning for. Some assume their happiness lies in wealth, whilst others drown their desire for happiness in fame and fortune. Truth is, happiness is the meaning of a number of things. Accepting yourself. The good, the bad, the flaws and imperfections. Learning to love yourself and accepting you are both perfect and imperfect. Why are there so many teenage suicides? Why are there so many broken families? Why are there thousands if not millions who drown their sorrows in alcohol and inject drugs to give them that temporary high so just for a brief second, they can forget reality. The problem is, we live in a world where we are expected to be a certain way. Pressurised in to believing money and fame hold the keys to our happiness. We have no sense of community, unity or support unless there’s a potential financial gain. Today we live in a selfish world, a greedy world, a world of me, myself and I. So what do we need to do? How do we move forward? The answer is simple yet powerful. Only YOU have control over your happiness.
