What is Salafism?

Salafism is a school of thought (Similar to the Hanafi, Shafi, Maliki and Hanbali schools of thought) which surfaced around 1850 as a reaction to the spread of European ideas.

contemporary Salafis follow literal, traditional injunctions of the sacred texts (The Quran and Sunnah).

Salafism is not a school of thought. It's a completely different sect/cult

Please correct this false information. Wikipedia is not a proper source for Islamic information. For everything else it's a good source
