Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
Today we will talk about two (fictitious) neighbouring countries of Tipistan and Topistan with the great Himalayan mountain range separating the two. They were friendly neighbours and open to Tourism and trade with nearly the same population of around 10 million.
Both were blessed with fertile land and the flowing waters of melting snow from the Himalayas meant that they was plenty of plants and natural vegetation which absolved them of the need to import anything for food.
Until one year, there was very high snow continuously for 4 months on the peaks of Himalayas on the Tipistan side. When summer arrived the heavy snow melted and the floods caused absolute and utter devastation to the lives of 6 million people. Their crops were destroyed, warehouses damaged and infrastructure destroyed. They turned to their neighbour Topistan for help.
There was only one problem.
Mythologists were predicting that next year the heavy snow may be on Topistan side of the border. Nevertheless, the President of Topistan agreed to put the vote to referendum. The referendum question read, “Should we give all our stockpiles of food and grain to the people of Tipistan”?
Topistan was a democratic country with highly intelligent people who took great pride in the democracy, they voted and the results were as follows:
- 52% said NO
- 48% said YES
The president of Topistan with a democratic mandate from his people refused to help and 3 million year in Tipistan died because the outside world couldn’t get aid to the country fast enough!
Democracy won, Morality lost!
On 25th of July 2013 the “official” civilian casualties in Syria admitted by UN crossed 100,000!
On 30th of August 2013 the British democratic system voted to not save the slaughter of innocent civilians in Syria
Democracy won, Morality lost!
