Btw, Not all Shia are Rafida, but all Rafida are Shia. Like arguably the Zaydis/Zaydiya, followers of Imam Zayd ibn Ali Zaynal-Abidin are not Rafida, because they accepted the Sahabah and especially the first 3 Khulafa' Rashidin, and they are the nearest to Sunni, and their sources of guidance after Quran is the same with Sunni, ie. Bukhari, Muslim, etc. History tolds that Imam Zayd was the person who gave the title Rafida to those Shia who rejected the Sahabah and thus left Imam Zayd because of his defense of the Sahabah of his grandfather, the Prophet s.a.w. - Allah a'lam.
Brief history: Imam Zayd (born in 80H - murdered in 120+H) was the son of Imam Ali Zaynal-Abidin, and the brother of Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, and the uncle of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq, peace and blessing be upon them. Imam Zayd did authored a Fiqh book. Thus a follower of his mazhab, ie. school of thought is known as Zaydi. In fiqh wise, they are nearest of Mazhab Hanafi.
