Assalamu Alaikum,
i am trying to work out my zakaah and would like to know do i have to have had my money for at least a year or can i just give zakaah on all of my savings at the end of the lunar year even if i have not held it for a full year? can i give more in zakaah than i actually need to?

Someone has bought a building in which a bank is leasing already. The Bank has a long term lease and cannot be removed. Is the rental income that the bank pays halal or is it advisable for them to sell the building?
Also Zaid is eligable for zakaat (as does not have a source of income/fuqaraa). He lives with his parents, but his wife and parents don't get along. Can he ask for more Zakaat money to buy a house of his own (even if money reaches more than nisaab?), will accepting more money (for house) be permissable for him?
can Salim give Zaid zakaat enough to buy a home, and have his fardh (of distributing zakaat) completed?
Will Zaid be counted as a Fuqaraa, if he lives with his parents and his parents are quite rich, even though he himself has no income?

Assalamu alaikum. If a husband has not yet paid the mahr to his wife, but the amount of mahr agreed upon between them at the time of marriage is known to both of them, is the wife responsible for paying zakat every year on the mahr that she has not yet received?

i have a small car provided by my office for official and personal use , it is owned by the company in which i work. this car is not fullfilling my domestic needs therefore i have bought my own car for my family,s needs . my question is that whether i have to pay zakat on my own personnel car or not?

please kindly tell me what the difference between lillah and sadaqah is, i have also heard that it is preferable for women to give sadaqah and not lillah, is this true? we have just been for ummrah and would like to give damm, for any mistakes and sins we may have made during the stages of being in ihram, can this money be paid into sadaqah?

Assalam Alaiykum,
Could someone please help me with my zakah problem, I cannot seem to get any useful help at the moment and I am under great pressure.
I would like to know if you calculate zakah on investment or on current value of an investment.
Example: I have some shares and their values change on a daily basis, also I bought a diamond for ?1,500.00 as an investment but I do not know its current value.
Could someone please let me know the correct way in how I calculate zakah on these two examples. Last year I calculated the shares on their value using the FT newspaper and calculated the diamond on the amount I paid for it which is ?1,500.00.
I was also told that the diamond falls under Khums by Islamic Centre of England which is 20% of the value instead of 2.5% which is zakah. Is this correct or does it only apply to shia sources?
Also would I need to re-value the diamond, if so, who will do this for me.
Your swift reply would be most appreciated as my year-end is in two weeks.

If someone wants to give zakaat to a woman who has three daughters and she saved Gold jewelary or clothings for her daughters wedding, is she eligible for zakaat?
Does she need to give zakaat on the jewlery?

Assalamu alaykum warahmatullaah,
1) A brother buys a house in India with zakaat money for a poor woman. The woman has no income. So the brother decides to buy another house in India with zakaat money with the intention that the 2nd house will be the income for the poor woman. So is it permissable for the brother to make a 2nd house for the poor woman with zakaat money? If he does make the second house and makes the poor woman the owner, does the woman need to pay zakaat from the rent income or from the house?
2) A brother has another house which has been given out for rent. The mortgage that he pays monthly is more than the rent income he gains from the house. Does zakaat become compulsory from the rent money? And what if the rent he recieves is more than the mortgage he pays?
