Ramadhan and Fasting
4th August 2008
Assalmou Alaikum,
I am extremly torn by this subject. I have fasted 6 days of Ramadan so far and still have another 2/3rds of the month to go but I am begining to feel extremly dehydrated and fatigued. When I think about not fasting and making the days up later, I think making up all those days alone is going to be hard and try to avoid it by fasting with everyone else. Iftar is currently at 6:30pm and I do wake up for suhur every single day. I am not sure what my islamic obligations are in this case, there are so many things I have heard and read and can't quiet figure out which one to go with.
I would hope a Shekh or Imam can answer me about this.
Thank you

Dear Mufti Sahib,
1-During Istinjah, if somebody felt that a small portion of his finger went inside the anus while he was wiping out the filth.Does this invalidate the fast?
2-If somebody was kissing his wife and tiny hair on her neck got inside the mouth and then down his throat. Does this invalidate the fast?

Assalam-O-Alaikum,
Everyone knows that fast breaks when menses bleeding starts, but the Pakistani maulvi of our local mosque says that although that fast is not counted and is considered to be repeated, still, we are not allowed eating or drinking until Iftaar of that day, even if bleeding started right after Sohr, after fajr time started.
Please explain this in the light of the Hadith.
Jazak Allah Khair.

Asalamwaliakum.
last year for laylatul Qadr I found on a website some duas and i recited them as insturcted, however I am now concerned that they may shia practicies and outside the shria. I am concerned that to do good deeds, i may have performed some sin insted. Please take a look at them for me and confirm if they are shia or sunni and if it was ok to recite.
see below
one said that imam mohammad baqi (as) said on the 19th, 21st and 23rd of ramzan to hold open the holy quran in front of your face and recite this dua:
Alla humma inni as 'aluka be kitabek-al munzal-e wa ma feeh-e wa feehismok-al akbaro wa asmaaukal husna wa ma yukhafu wa yurja an taj 'alani min utaqa'eka min-an nar-e wa taqzi-a hawa'eji lid-duniya wal aakhirah.
and then ask for whatever you wish from your Lord(swt). Inshallah that wish will be granted.
Imam Jafer-e-Sadiq(a.s.) recommends that "Put the Holy Quran on your head and say:
Alla humma be haqqe hazal qura'ane wa be haqqe man arsaltahu behi wa be haqqe kulle mu'minin madahtahu feehe wa be haqqeka alaehim fala ahada aarafo be haqqeka minka.
10 times: beka ya Allah-ho (swt),
10 times: be-Mohammad-in (pbuh&hf),
10 times: be-Ali-in (a.s.),
10 times: be-Fatima-ta (a.s.),
10 times: bil-Hasan-e (a.s.),
10 times: bil-Hussain-e (a.s.),
10 times: be-Ali ibn-il-Hussain-e- (.a.s),
10 times: be-Mohammad ibn-e-Ali-in (a.s.),
10 times: be-Jaffer ibn-e-Mohammad-in (a.s.),
10 times: be-Moosa ibn-e-Jaffer-in (a.s.),
10 times: be-Ali ibn-e-Moosa (a.s.),
10 times: be-Mohammad ibn-e-Ali-in (a.s.),
10 times: bil Hassan ibn-e-Ali-in (a.s.),
10 times: bil-Hujjat il-Qayyam-e (a.s.)
After this whatever wish you have, ask your Lord(swt) for it.
ALSO THEY SAID TO RECITE the Ziarat-e-Warisa of Imam Hussain(a.s.). What is ziaraat? please explain
I use these websites below, do you know if they are sunni websites? also please suggest any sunni websites that you know of.
www.ziaraat.com
www.duas.org
http://www.rizvia.com/intro.asp
I use the internet to find dua's and such and it is difficult to know what websites are sunni and which are shia, how do you distinguish between them and practices outside sharia.
If i have done sin by performing these would repentance to ALLAH (swt) be enough.?

Assalamu Alaykum,
Say a woman does I'tikaaf in her room. Can she go around her room to get things e.g. a book from the shelf or look for things in her cupboard?
Also, is that you CANNOT talk worldly talk or is it makrooh or is it jaiz? If not, then what is said about passing messages by writing it on a piece of paper?
Jazakallah for your time and efforts.

While fasting, sometimes I am invlovled in such exercises which results in heavy sweating. This sweat then drys up. I would like to know if while licking your lips, and then tasting the salty taste of sweat, and then swallowing that saliva (usually because it's not appropriate to spit it out at that time), is the fast broken??
And what if a person swallows his mucus (not out of an intention to pacify the hunger, but because the person is in such a situation where it is not appropriate for him to spit, e.g. a lecture theatre), does this break the fast?? If a person swallows the above two things intentionally or unintentionally, is the ruling the same?

Assalam-u-alaikum,
Maulana Sahib, I am a Hanfi Muslim and in our mosque we read 20 rakat traweeh. However, after 8 rakats some people from Middle Eastern descent go home. Can you tell me are we allowed to read only 8 rakats for traweeh prayer?
