Assalamalaikum my brother is 9 years old and suffers from severe ulcerative colitis. He is extremely underweight and does not eat much. A few months back a peer told us that his disease is being made worse because someone in the family has done black magic on him. They want to kill him off in order to hurt and upset my mum. The peer also told us that my brother doesn't have that much longer to live at this rate. Please tell me of a dua that will make him better. Could you also tell me a dua that stops black magic being put on a person? Also do you know any duas that will make him regain his appetite? And could you also pray for him. Jazakallah khair

May Allah Ta'ala cure your brother from the illness.
As you have mentioned, your brother has been diagnosed with an illness. Illnesses are from Allah. It is important to understand this. It has become very cultural that if somebody falls ill, it is a result of black magic. This doubt is then strengthened by a peer who wishes to continue your visits to him for money. (I cant comment about the peer in question as i do not know him, but this is a general statement).
We should refrain from these thoughts and doubts, and should rather work on it in different ways, such as medication and constant Du'a.
