Assalam-o-alaikum,
Respested Mufti Sahab !
i want to ask a question about "hisaab kitaab" on the day of qayamah. there are some Ahadees which says that some people will go to Jannah without "hisaab kitaab". at the same time there are ayaat in Quran which says that there must be "hisaab kitaab" of everyone. i am in discussion with one of my friend who said that Ahadees on this issue are not true as Allah clearly said in Quran that there must be hisaab kitaab of everyone, and he said that Ahadees which seems to be in conflict with Qurani ayaat should be rejected. please guide me on this issue.
wassalaam,
farooqi.

Al-jawab billahi at-taufeeq (the answer with Allah's guidance)

Abu Umamah (RadhiyAllahu Anhu) that the Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, "My Rabb promised me that seventy thousand of my ummah would enter Paradise without being called to account and without being punished, and with each one will be seventy thousand, and three handfuls of people picked up by my Rabb [i.e. it will be a great number]". (Ahmad, at-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Hibbaan).

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) described the characteristics of these seventy thousand.

Ibn `Abbas (RadhiyAllahu Anhu) reported: Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, "I was shown the past nations. I saw a Prophet who had a very small group (less than ten in total) with him, another Prophet who was accompanied by only one or two men and some did not have even one. Suddenly I was shown a huge crowd and I thought that they were my Ummah, but I was told: 'This is Musa and his people, but look towards the other side.' I looked and beheld a great assemblage.

I was told: 'These are your people and amongst them there are seventy thousand who shall enter Jannah without being taken to account or torment". Then the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) stood up and went into his apartment, and the Companions began to guess who may be those people who would enter Jannah without any accounting or torment. Some said: "Probably, they are the ones who kept company with Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)". Others said: "Probably, they are the ones who have been born as Muslims and have never associated anyone with Allah in worship".

Then Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) came out and asked, "What are you discussing?'' So they told him. He then said, "They are those who do not make Ruqyah (blowing over themselves after reciting the Qur'an or some prayers and supplications the Prophet used to say) nor seek it, nor perceive omens (i.e., they are not pessimistic) but keep trust in their Rabb (Allah).'' On this 'Ukashah bin Mihsan stood up and asked: "Pray to Allah to make me one of them.'' The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, "You are one of them.'' Then another man stood up and asked the same thing. The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) answered, "'Ukashah has surpassed you".

(Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

These may be the ones whom Allah Ta'ala has called al-Muqarraboon (those nearest to Allah Ta'ala):

"And those foremost [in faith] will be foremost [in the Hereafter]. These will be those nearest to Allah [al-Muqarraboon], in the Gardens of Bliss". (56:10-12)

(Al Jannah Wan Nar)

If a famous authentic Hadith apparently contradicts any Ayat of the Quran, the Hadith will not be rejected. But it will have to be reconciled and understood in the correct context.

And Only Allah Ta'ala Knows Best.

There are two types of Ruqya, permissible and non permissible; Permissible Ruqya is that which is derived from the Quran and Hadith. For example, the recitation of Surah Ikhlas, Falaq, Naas, Ayatul Kursi etc.

Non permissible Ruqya is that which is made up of words besides the Quran and hadith, and the person seeking the Ruqya places his full trust in the Ruqya itself and not in Allah Ta’ala.

With regards to the Hadith which mentions that seventy thousand people will be granted entry into Paradise without reckoning and they are those who do not practice Ruqya, refers to those who practice the impermissible Ruqya. (See: Lisanul Arab Vol. 14 Pg. 332 and Tajul Arus, Juz 38, Pg. 177))
