I just wanted to know whether it is permissable to buy used items from a non- muslim e.g. food processer?

Yes, is it permissible to use products which have been made by non Muslims such as food processors. There is ample evidence that Rasulullah , the Sahaabah (Radhiyallahu Anhum) and great Muslim personalities (Rahimahumullah) of antiquity and contemporary times have used "non-food products" which were made by non-muslims. Eg armour, cars. Planes, roads etc
