The Hadith narrated by ?Abdullah ibn Mas?ood (may Allah be pleased with him) says that:"
I heard Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam say: ?Allah has cursed the woman who does tattoos and the one who has them done, the woman who plucks eyebrows and the one who has it done, and the one who files her teeth for the purpose of beauty, altering the creation of Allah.? (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, Muslim Vol 2)
It is evident from the Hadith that Allah has cursed the women who removes eyebrows and the one who has them removed for beautification. The main point is "[i:7c2c24308d]removing[/i:7c2c24308d]" the eyebrow regardless of what method is utilized. Everything from shaving, plucking, Waxing and threading is included in this. The act of removing the eye brows was a habit of the prostitutes and courtesans of the time. Today it is something which the non Islamic world promotes and encourages under the false guise of beauty. It has never been something which the Shariah promotes the Muslim nation to do.
Further, to this I can remember my Ustaad Hadhrat Mufti Farooq Sahib (May Allah lengthen his life) saying to us, when we came to study the above Hadith in Bukhari, that shaving the eyebrows have a harmful spiritual effect on the person concerned.
