Is cat hair impure

We have a cat that has the habit of sitting in front of us, rubbing against us, or sits on our lap when we make salaat. Someone told me that cat hair is Najis (Impure)- is this true and must we re-do our Salaat?

In the Hanafi School, cat hair is pure (Tahir). {1}



{1} فقد روى أهل السنن الأربعة من حديث كبشة بنت كعب بن مالك -وكانت تحت بعض ولد أبي قتادة- أن أبا قتادة رضي الله عنه دخل عليها، فسكبت له وَضُوءاً، فجاءت هرة، فشربت منه، فأصغى لها الإناء حتى شربت. قالت كبشة: فجعلت أنظر إليه. فقال: أتعجبين يا ابنة أخي؟ فقلت: نعم، فقال: إن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "إنها ليست بنجس، إنها من الطوافين عليكم والطوافات"

فهذا الحديث يدل على طهارة الهرة
