The Shaikh mentioned in question, is not a certified graduate from any Madrasah. However, this is not a requirement for a Shaikh-e-Tariqat.

The Shaikh in question is affiliated with the Deobandi School of India and is, as mentioned, a Shaikh of high calibre. I have had the opportunity of attending one of his Zikr Majlis in Manchester and in Bolton, after the Fajr prayer.

It is recommended to take Bay'ah and the Shaikh in question would be a brilliant mentor.
And Allah knows best.
